Kudos must go the Board who must seriously think im a pest. I hounded them the whole of last week only to be told that its on CricHq for the past few weeks. Quite embarrassed though. I hope this will help people keep abreast with grass roots cricket.

Re: HMCA 2015/16 Season
Old Malvernians in the biggest shock of the season so far won a nail bitter at Old Hararians when they suffocated the much vuanted Rainbow Batting line up by defending 169 thanks to some inspired bowling from Shady Saharara and David Brent who combined to take 8 wickets between them as the rainbow chase imploed from a winning postion where they required 30 off 55 balls with 5 wickets in hand. OMS were put into bat and were propped up by a hard grafted 41 from Francis Sunday and return veteran and legend Ishamael Senzere who belted 51 of 33 as they steered OMS to a total that they believed they could defend. Tino Mausire grabbed the first 3 wickets with other contributions comming from Zhawi and Munyede but Rainbow failed to bowl the at times fragile OMs lineup. The win for OMs sees them leap over Glenshire by one point as the relgation dog fight heats up whil Rainbows build up to what would have been the Vigne Cup decider come to an end as Takashinag 2 has a game in hand as their fixture had to be rescheduled as they were no umpires at the takashinga ground.

Re: HMCA 2015/16 Season
The Vigne Cup is comming to an exciting end at both the top and bottom of the Vigne Cup First League Log with season honours and survival. In what can be only be described as pure chance that the Top and bottom teams meet in season ending deciders. At the bottom league veterans Old Malvernians take on underachievers Glenshire at Prince Edward on Sunday afternoon. Glenshire will rope in their Mash Eagle big guns Garwe , Muzarawetu, Gupo and Gumbi to help secure their first league status. OM's will be desperate to vent their frustration on survival after being docked points for the use of 4 unregistered players who lead them to a stunning win over Rainbow in week 11. OMs will be looking to Shaun Joseph, Davy Brent , Francis Sande ,Richard Muzhange and Ishmael Senzere to lead the survival charge. We can expect a bitter and scrappy fight with both sides being very unpredictable the safe money will be on Glenshire to pull of a win but you never know with an OMS side that on one day can easily set 300 and the next be bowled out for 45
At the top bitter rivals Takashinga 1 and Rainbow clash to decide who takes the Vigne cup home. Rainbow come into the encounter two points clear from twp hard fought bonus point wins against Katundu Kings and Takashinga 2 in a last ditch attempt to win the league. Takashinga 1 come into the tie quietly confident as they come into the tie with the enviable record of having lost the least amount of wickets thanks to their much vaunted batting line up. The form guide would suggest that Takaz 1 should be able to cut the swash buckling Rainbow side to size backed by the Maruma brothers and the inform Regis Chakabva. They will rely on the bowling talents of Eagles break out player Tanya Munyaradzi , Kieth Kulinga Tafadzwa Mufudza and young tear away bowler Blessing Muzarabani. Rainbow will knuckle down with the bat on the corner stones built by Gary Chirimuuta and Robertson Chinyegetere with their bowling attack boasting Munyede ,Mugochi, Mavuta and Zhawi to lead the way. Rainbow will be hurt by the loss giant Gerry Aliseni who will be replaced by Mupunga. We can expect a high scoring game as both teams go for the jugular the toss will be crucial.
A weekend full of excitement

Re: HMCA 2015/16 Season
Rainbow claimed their first trophy and Vigne Cup with a stunning 30 run win over Takashinga 1 at a packed Takashinga in high filed. The victory was dramatic as Takashinga 1 collapsed from a strong 90 for zero with Regis Chakabva surgically dissecting the much touted RCC swing trio of Zhawi, Tino and Mupunga. The collapse was triggered by a stunning run out after a poor call from Power Maruma forced Reggis back who like Hamilton was lazy in putting his bat in the crease as Munyede had the presence of mind to hit the stumps from 7 meters out. Enter the spinners lead by Brighton Muguochi who took six stunning wickets with the pick was when he flighted a ball that pitched on leg and and knocked the middle stump to take the wicket of a very off colour shaun handrisi batting at a shocking 8.
Earlier on Rainbows start got off to a poor start losing pinch hitter Mugochi early for 4 and power hitter Mwenda for 4 and 12 respectivfley before a sixty three run partnership between Chirimuuta and Masunda started the rebuilding process. Some inspired bowling from 18 year old Under 19 non traveling player Blessing Muzarabani who stands and 2 meters 3 made things difficult as he grab 4 wickest to rock RCC back to 133 for 8 . RCC fought back thanks to a 51 tail wagging partnership between Munyede and Zhawi with muyede contributing 33(41) and Zhawi 22(31) bolstered the score that decided the game in the end before being bowled out for 195 . In the end a hard fought victory ensures that Takashingas barren trophy run continues . A visibly upset Makoni , coach Sheppy , Johnson Marumisa and Eric Chauluka hurled a number of expletives at the players after the defeat with Chakabva and Timcyn Maruma being the target of the abuse for their errors and poor show.

Re: HMCA 2015/16 Season
Good news that Takashinga lost.
In other news, OH made it two in a row after thrashing a decent Glenshire side last week.
OH played Takashinga 2 with Shingi, Foster, Roy Kaia, Kamunukhamwe playing. While for OH a suprise Ervine and usual Zhuwao, Diplock, and Madhevere.
OH batted 1st and got going with Kuntha and Zhuwao departing early. Yaser Parker and Craig Ervine got a good 50 partnership going before Parker was caught behind for 27. Ervine and u19 star Wesley Madhevere got going and piled on the runs before Wesley got out in the 40s. Ervine and Diplock then had a nice little partnership before Ervine getting stumped for 98. Diplock then hit a few more before going stumped for 37. The innings ended OH all out for 248.
The bowling started well for OH with Diplock continuing his rich vain of form by claiming 2 wickets for 11 runs in 7.0 overs while the raw pace of Chikumi looked far more under control at the othet end. Takas slipped further down the barrel as Zhuwao claimed the wicket of Shingi. Roy Kaia kept fighting as he reached fifty, but was caught in the deep just after off Madhevere who claimed 3 wickets. Foster soon departing and the other Muzarabani brother tried resisting with a few lusty blows but failed in the end as OH won by 80 runs or so.
That wraps up the season and there are rumoura that the next season starts in April. Hmm

Re: HMCA 2015/16 Season
Katundu Kings have a 13 year old Hellenic kid wicket keeper who has a great amount of disrespect !! I wanted to give him a hiding when I saw him playing and wearing what he did in a 1st league game. Completely out of his depth too.
Re: HMCA 2015/16 Season
What's his name? Surely the adults not only in his team, but also the opposition's should be teaching him the right way? Or just smack him upside the head and tell him to go away?

Re: HMCA 2015/16 Season
The Kid should be called Luke great hands for a keeper for his age . I was irritated by his attitude which i think is some symptom of some bad habits passed on from the older guys. I kind of figured his attitude was a means to cope coz he got some nasty bowling and chirping comming his way when Rainbow played the Kings two weeks ago.
