[Match Thread] Bangladesh v Zimbabwe - 3rd ODI

Post by maehara »

Bangladesh v Zimbabwe
Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur, 31 October 2009

The only way is up...
That said, I predicted 3-2 before the series began, so I'm still on course for a correct prediction...! :)

We would take an away series any way it comes. Lets hope the boys pull up thier socks and get back to business. After all you win some you lose some. Just dont lose all the time. For the third game I would give Jarvis, Coventry a rest. I hope Taibu will be fit for this game. We would gladly welcome Vermuelen back into the team.

1. H. Masakadza(c)
2. M. Vermuelen
3. C. Chibhabha
4. B. Taylor
5. T. Taibu/(Mutizwa if Taibu is not fit)(wk)
6. S. Matsikinyere
7. E. Chigumbura
8. M. Waller
9. G. Cremer
10. R. Price
11. C. Mpofu
CHRISTOPHER MPOFU: 'The problem was fear of failure. I used to think that when I played, if I didn't do well in one game, I would lose my place for the next one but now I've let go of that'

Lets hope we win this one cuz if the Asians get the lead tomorrow then they might just win the remaining games, it will be a good psychological boost for them going into the forth game cuz they will take the first game as just a fluke. I have a feeling if we dont win this one we might just loose it 1-4 but if we win this the series is ours.
12.4 Odhiambo to Vermeulen, FOUR, that's an appalling long hop, Vermulen had plenty of time to get into position, drink a cup of tea, and pull the ball towards the long leg boundary- his first boundary today

I think we should keep Jarvis in the side. He brings more to the bowling attack than Mpofu.

1. Hamilton Masakadza
2. Mark Vermeulen
3. Chamu Chibhabha
4. Tatenda Taibu
5. Brendan Taylor
6. Stuart Matsikenyeri
7. Elton Chigumbura
8. Malcolm Waller
9. Graeme Cremer
10. Ray Price
11. Kyle Jarvis
Neil Johnson, Alistair Campbell, Murray Goodwin, Andy Flower (w), Grant Flower, Dave Houghton, Guy Whittall, Heath Streak (c), Andy Blignaut, Ray Price, Eddo Brandes

I think its time give Mpofu a game...taking nothing away from Jarvis but he has been panned all over in the last game.

Yeah i'm sure he has, but Jarvis has more pace than Mpofu ( i know pace isnt everything ) but its sure bloody handy on these subcontinant pitches. Plus Jarvis is a better fielder

i say jarvis should stay in,,, watchn the 2nd ODI you would thnk the msg 4m the bangladesh dressroom had been 2 go after jarvis at all costs, 2 either dampen his confidence or our confidence in him, and 4m the comments im readng it just mite hv worked. . . I go wit wat Campbell said b4 "it shud be hard 4 any1 2 just waltz into the team bt it should also be damn hard 4 u 2 get droppd. . .

Zim batting (Bangla won the toss), Mutizwa in for Taibu is the only change, according to Cricinfo. Hoping for a blessing in disguise as far as the change is concerned.

Back to the good old opening pair! Hoping for a solid start from them. Pitch seems to be a dry one. We might miss Utseya here.
