Its going to be 4-0 odi win and 1-0 T20 win over Kenya !!!

Kenya has been relegatted to division 2, competition is least expected from them. In 4 of the odi games and one T20, half of these players might did'nt get chance to bat, because few failures have been selected who bats at the top for Zimbabwe A and are greatest bashers of weak teams and also a terrible failure when they face strong teams, however bowlers still have chance to impress against weak Kenya team.

Selectors will watch for : Brian Vitori, Sean Williams, Tarisai Musakanda, Ryan Murray, Brandon Mavuta and Ryan Burl, but its very less chance to see them batting.
You might be correct here. Bowlers will have their chances.Chibhabha, Chakabva, Maruma will look like great players when they faces these weak Kenya Side. Burl, Musakanda, Williams might not get chance to bat.

Instead of Chibhabha ,Maruma ,Chakabva we could have selected more youngsters , the A side should represent the future to be honest

You'll probably find once the UAE touring party is announced the players who make it will leave the A squad and fly to Dubai whilst the remainder of the squad will form the XI for the final 2 games, there are 18 names there after all.

I'd like to see this team for the first few matches

Chamu
Cephas
Musakanda
Williams
Burl
Mutombodzi
Murray wk
Mavuta
Madziva
Vitori
Ngarava

Don't really see the point in Bobby playing we know what he can do, could move Murray higher and play another bowler.

Are the team going back to ZIM after the Tri series?

Would be more cost effective to fly directly to the UAE and get acclimated. Would also be less fatigue on the players and might save money on Emirates airfare.

You would thought they would have flown straight to Dubai considering the 1st game is the 5th of February ( 13 days away ).

If Zimbabwe make the final of the Tri Series which is on the 27th of January it gives the players 9 days between the final and the first t20 game in Dubai. For the likes of Murray, Mavuta & Mpofu they'll have 9 days to fly to Zimbabwe for possibly 1 or 2 games max !!!

Maybe Streak and Taibu have already decided not to send those 3 guys to Dubai and will use the first 3 matches v Kenya to decide the remainder of their squad whilst Murray, Mavuta & Mpofu will take part in the later stages of the Kenya tour ??

No clue. I guess 9 days is not too much travel for these guys as they are professionals. But its a seriously long journey from Dhaka to Harare. My guess is the flight from Dubai to Harare is no less than 12-13 hours.

I have always wondered what happens in those training games before tours. It would be nice to get full score cards or for them to be open to the public. I have a feeling this team you selected could even beat the main side on their day

Chamu is very good against weak teams. Kenya is a 2nd division a weak side, Chibhabha will definately hit some tons. Murray and Mutombodzi won't get any batting.

Would like to see some grooming to take place seeing technically correct Burl in opening slot and groom Mashinge instead of Chibhabha, and Murray is not a slogger he should bat at 4
Robo to rule

Zimbabwe A, Kenya lock horns in limited-overs series

Zimbabwe A will face Kenya in a limited-overs series that will present the local players with a glorious opportunity to push for inclusion in the senior national side for the forthcoming ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2018 event on home soil.

The two sides will battle it out in four one-day matches and one Twenty-20 game.

Brian Vitori has been included in the Zimbabwe A squad after the International Cricket Council (ICC) cleared the left-arm fast bowler to resume bowling in international cricket following remedial work and re-assessment of his action.

All-rounder Sean Williams had been named in the side facing Kenya, but he will now miss out after he suffered a finger injury during a midweek practice session.

Donald Tiripano will captain Zimbabwe A in his hometown, with Chamunorwa Chibhabha, Regis Chakabva and Chris Mpofu being the other senior players in the squad.

Cephas Zhuwao has been rewarded for his fine form in domestic cricket and has earned a call-up alongside Wellington Masakadza, Ryan Burl, Tarisai Musakanda, Tinotenda Mutombodzi, Neville Madziva, Timycen Maruma, Prince Masvaure, Richard Ngarava and Rugare Magarira.

Ryan Murray and Brandon Mavuta, who have been touring with the senior team in Bangladesh, will also join the Zimbabwe A side in Mutare.

Manicaland Mountaineers mentor Shepherd Makunura has been appointed to stand in as Zimbabwe A coach in the absence of Douglas Hondo, who is away with the senior national team.

“I am very excited and it is a privilege and a great honour for me to take charge of the A side,” Makunura said.

He is expecting his charges to put on a good show, with most of the players looking to impress the selectors ahead of the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2018 to be hosted in Zimbabwe in March.

“We are obviously taking this series seriously as some of our players will be vying for places in the national side for the qualifiers and Kenya are also preparing for the qualifiers. So this should be a good series,” Makunura said.

The series will get underway on Monday as Zimbabwe A and Kenya clash in the first one-day match at Mutare Sports Club.
The second 50-overs match will be played on Wednesday, while the third and fourth one-dayers are set for next Friday and Sunday.

The two sides will then meet in the only Twenty-20 match of the series on 6 February.

Monday 29 January 2018 1st One-Day Match Mutare
Wednesday 31 January 2018 2nd One-Day Match Mutare
Friday 2 February 2018 3rd One-Day Match Mutare
