Re: Zimbabwe cricket quiz

Well, my thoughts are it has to be somebody who hasn't played many games against Zimbabwe. Steve Waugh was the first name to come to mind as he only played a handful of Tests vs Zimbabwe with some good scores, but he would have played quite a few ODI's.

So, I'll go for Imran Nazir, the Pakistan batsman who has enjoyed success against Zimbabwe a few times.

Close - Nazir's second on the list, with an average of 135.50 from 3 innings. But not the name I'm looking for.

Tough one.

I seem to remember Lou Vincent handing out some serious punishment in a series in Zim a couple of seasons ago. He can't have played against Zimbabwe very often.

Welcome to the forums. :)

Vincent's actually quite far down the list - 25th, averaging 69.25 from 4 innings during the Black Caps' last trip to Zim in 2005 - although that's a good average considering he had no 'not out' scores to skew the average...

Thanks! Love both your websites. Its great to finally find some in-depth info on Zimbabwe cricket.

Brian McMillan. I must confess I cheated and used Statsguru though..

Where'd you think I got the question from? :). 250 runs scored in 3 innings against Zim - but since he was only out in one of them, that's also his average.

Next question is yours to set...

Who can name a team of 11 players born in Zimbabwe (or who have played for Zimbabwe) that played either first class, one day or T20 cricket in England in the past season? It's actually a surprisingly well balanced team!

It's tragic isn't it? I know where my money would be if that team played the current XI. The 11th player didn't represent a county..
