I think burl or moor could open instead of chari.
That Afghanistan umpire was very cautious with giving dismissals which was probably for the best.

^ Added benefit of my XI, is there's a lot of fluidity in that batting lineup. Chakabva can be moved up depending on match situation/need.

Maybe chakabva could open. It's worth a try.

Imagine this line up for the test Match against Pakistan
Think this will be the strongest Line up,we can bat all the way to number 9, with two Seamers and plenty of Spin options in Raza. Wesley, Williams.
Kevin Kasuza
Prince Masvaure
Craig Ervine
Brandon Taylor
Sean Williams
Raza
Wessley Madhevere
Musakanda/ Mavuta
Regis
Blessing
Nyauchi

The only player Afghanistan were missing was Rashid Khan, so let's rephrase this "If Zimbabwe were full strength & Afghanistan had Rashid" Afghanistan are such a one man team it's not funny, but even on this deck I think Zimbabwe still win because of the assistance the seamers got, imagine if KJ & Chatara played, they would have bowled them out for 50 both timesKriterion_BD wrote: ↑Wed Mar 03, 2021 9:50 pmExcellent win.
I really thought this would be a close series even if both teams were at full strength, but that Afghanistan would probably win 2-0. That ZIM thrashed them sans BRMT and Ervine and KJ and Chatara bodes well. I suspect the boys are quite disappointed that playing so few Tests, when they finally get to play one its all over inside 2 days But I would imagine its a disappointment Zimbabwe would like to enjoy haha.
I think in the end the pitch & the absence of Rashid obviously worked into Zimbabwe's favour, but heck that's cricket you need to play the conditions accordingly, and Afghanistan either stupid or ignorant to A) Only play One seamer & B) Chose to bat first after seeing the pitch. If Zimbabwe were in any doubt about the make up/ balance of their lineup, once they saw the pitch it was clear, a 8-3 lineup with three seamers was the way to go.
This is Zimbabwe's 13th Test win after 29-years of Test cricket, I don't care how it came or who against, let's savour it and enjoy it

I have said this before that Afghanistan are a team of T20 hacks. In the longest format, Zimbabwe are better than Afghans and Ireland, far better.
Afghanistan, like Bangladesh of earlier days, keep chopping and changing their players, without allowing a group of players to settle down, this happens when you do not know what is your best combination, also Afghans focus more, almost entirely on shorter formats.
At least what I like about Ireland is that they value their test status and want to play more test cricket.
