Please give me some information about the Zimbabwein Zulu the one & only Andy Blignaut, where is he right now.
Where is the great shot creater Dougie Marillier, we miss him alot & his tipical Marillier shot, only the shot in cricket asinged with the name of player, read about that shot http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marillier_shot
Marillier is playing club cricket for the Red Lions in the Harare winter cricket league. Detective RDS wrote a good article about this about a fortnight ago: http://www.brmtaylor.com/news-168.html
Not sure about Blignaut but I think he is still in Zimbabwe, don't know if he is still playing though.

The ICC report on Zimbabwean cricket unveiled that Andy Blignaut is self employed. Afterwards, Alistair Campbell who is currently the chief selector of Zim confirmed to Zimbabwean Independent that Blignaut is living in Zimbabwe and plays social cricket.
“We still have a lot of former players playing social cricket back in Zim. Guys like Craig Wishart, Trevor Gripper and Andy Blignaut… I think he is still around. Streaky (Heath Steak) is also in Zim quite a lot these days. I think I’ve seen Barney Rogers around as well. The coaches are there — Kevin Curran is around, so is and Andy Waller.”
CricInfo last reported about him that ZC was unable/unwilling to pay him. So, Blignaut refused to play for Zimbabwe until he is paid. It happened in 2006 and it compelled him to keep himself out of cricket for around 3 years. He is 31 now and I hope he will return through the franchise system. Although I'm not so sure...But looking forward and let's see if we are able to find any information about him...

if not then i think it will be the end of his contribution to ZC
Agree...I also think so. Infact, the franchise squads will make us clear that who wants to play for Zimbabwe and who doesn't. If not now, then never. Really looking forward !
Not so encouraging news for Andy Blignaut's prospective. I emailed Enock Muchinjo, the sports reporter of Zimbabwean Independent asking about Andy Blignaut. Thankfully he replied me ;
Hi Brendan
As for Blignaut, I’m told he’s based in both SA and Zim these days working on the family business. He hasn’t been playing a lot of social cricket lately I’m meant to understand. Will let you know if there is anything else of interest.
Incredible how in such a short period of time players of the calibre of Bliggy and Marrilliar can return (and have returned ) May the likes of Sean Ervine and Henry Olonga return
