Heath Streak
Just seen on Twitter that Adam Theofilatos is claiming that Heath Streak is critically ill. Can anyone shed more light on if that is true or not? If so that's terrible news.

Yes he is. The source was David Coltart, not Theo, so pretty reliable.

Ah I hadn't seen Coltart say anything, hence why I was asking for clarification as Theo isn't know for his reliability. That truly is dreadful news though.secretzimbo wrote: ↑Sat May 13, 2023 7:15 amYes he is. The source was David Coltart, not Theo, so pretty reliable.

Re: Heath Streak
Colon cancer, I believe.
I don't think it was that long ago that he was diagnosed and sounds like it's very aggressive.
Never understood how they don't have multiple cures for cancer these days. It gets 90% of us at some point.

Absolutely gutted. This is horrible news to wake up to. At only 48 as well
Re: Heath Streak
Have said a prayer for Streak. Hopefully it's not as bad as the reports suggest
Re: Heath Streak
Terrible terrible news. Prayers with Heath and his family.

Re: Heath Streak
You can’t *cure* cancer because cancer isn’t a single disease. All cancers stem from mutations in particular genes, some of which are inherited (eg familial adenomatous colon cancer) and others are picked up from combined inherited and environmental factors (cervical cancer from HPV virus).
Conceivably, you could cure cancer by genetically modifying faulty genes and/or using nano-robotics to just go in and manually re-mutate them. That of course, is still too futuristic for us at the moment.
