I was just thinking how big an impact it will be if Zimbabwe or Ireland or both qualify for the WC. It will surely mean at least one former WC winning team will miss out from the WC. That will have huge ramifications for that team whoever misses out.

The Qualifiers will once again be heart breaking for quite a few teams and the ICC suck for this.
I can’t see SL missing out. I think they qualify relatively easily and the second spot is between WI/Zim/Ire

Ultimately it’s gonna be the team that doesn’t slip up against an associate at some point

There’s also the issue of net run rate. There will likely be a few pairs of teams tied on points/wins.

Pooran is in terrific hitting form. I've watched some of his innings in the IPL and he is smashing it from ball one. Zimbabwe's best chance against all these teams would be to prepare wickets similar to the ones we are seeing against Pakistan Shaheens. 230-250 types. Good batting paradise and Zimbabwe will be brutally thrashed. Zimbabwe have never been the team of huge run chases, they do better on sportive wickets.

News going around the circle is . Netherlands will miss their entire group of county guys except bas de leede . apparently Tom Cooper is not available too. So they will be missing services of ackerman, klassen, van meekeren, van der merwe, van der gugten . Might miss services of van Beek and Tim Pringle also who are currently involved in NZ

It's NZ's off-season isn't it? So they should be available.

Ya there's no chance the county guys will play. At least De Leede is. County cricket needs more coaches like Cambo!

Bas De Leede would be a gun ODI all-rounder in any international side. Bowls rockets and he's a proper batter.

So some teams have announced squads already.

But we still don’t have fixtures? Or venues? Or groupings? Or even the format? What a joke the ICC is. They’ve decimated these qualifying events.

Are these not the groups then? Even the commentators yesterday mentioned these groupings:

Yeah 90% sure there will be no County guys except de Leede, who's apparently only staying for as long as the Dutch have a chance of qualifying (so potentially bad news for ZIM if the Dutch make top three in the group with no points carried forward, as he'll likely play group games but maybe not Super Sixes vs SL/IRE/Whoever). Van Beek will likely be there, Pringle's still injured. I'm told they're not picking Ross ter Braak either (which is mental IMO) so pretty samey right arm seam attack. Expect an official announcement this week but word is it's a very "thanks for training" squad. Kids are better than they were though. Could still upsert some teams.

Any of you lovely peeps know for sure what venues they're using? Last I heard plan was Queens and HSC with proper camera set up, then BAC and Takashinga with livestreams? Was surprised they'd go with Takashinga over OH, but not seen the state of either recently.
