[Match Thread] Bangladesh v Zimbabwe: 5th ODI

Bangladesh v Zimbabwe: 5th ODI
Zohur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chittagong, 12 December 2010

Zimbabwe's last chance to save the series. Bangladesh's chance to go one step closer to 8th in the ICC ODI rankings, which they're now very close to (a 4-1 series win would have done it for them, 3-1 doesn't quite). Which one's the bigger incentive, I wonder?

It seems that Bangladeshi cricket is finally making actual progress. It has taken a long time. Something for Zimbabwean fans to consider when gauging the progress Zimbabwe has (or hasn't) made.

the wicket in CTG should assist spinners more. which means price, utseya and cremer may get some wickets. but it also means ZIM are virtually guaranteed to score under 200.

personally, as this is the last game for us before WC, i want to see ZIM bundled under 50 and a 9 wicket win if we bowl first.

I am pretty sure this is going to be washed out too...
And if the match is played we are sadly going to see the same zim story..

Losing after winning the opening match
Failing to the spinners
Same old selection dilemma and playing the clowns
All the members of the team not performing simultaneously
Throwing wickets away
Digging a hole by playing out the spinners defensively
Getting smacked at the death overs
Collapses
Conversions issues - Not converting starts into big runs
Poor team management - Not knowing who should bat at what position and not clear about the strategy
Rush of blood

The team looks clearly clueless and they don't know what they want to do..This has been the problem of zim
cricket for years and i don't see them improving - sadly..

Taylor
Masakadza
DABENGWA!!!! -at three?
Chigumbura
Taibu
Ervine
Chakabva
Utseya
Cremer
Price
Mpofu

Bad start for Zimbabwe. Taylor run out off the the second ball of the match which also happened to be a no-ball. Now Dabengwa has come in to bat at 3. No doubt he will drop anchor.

personally, as this is the last game for us before WC, i want to see the overhyped Bangladesh bundled out for lowest ever score in ODI and as we are batting first a score of over 250

12/2 after 7 overs. Masakadza out, Ervine at the crease.

Its not looking good. To get run out on free hit ball - the only way that you can get out - is criminal. And the shot played by Hamilton shows that he is rally low on confidence. Probably the ball did not rise as much as he expected.
