Re: Zim Afro T10
Stupid rumours gaining traction. Kill this ballance myth before it becomes reality. I've heard from men in the ground he's well and truly done with cricket
Re: Zim Afro T10
Not sure we want Ballance back even if he were interested - he let us down big time.
Neil Johnson, Alistair Campbell, Murray Goodwin, Andy Flower (w), Grant Flower, Dave Houghton, Guy Whittall, Heath Streak (c), Andy Blignaut, Ray Price, Eddo Brandes
Re: Zim Afro T10
Yes he let us down by not playing the qualifiers but he was pretty good in his short stint despite what may have been going on behind the scenes. Maybe he’s now had the time to sort himself out. I would love to see him straight back into the national team.
Re: Zim Afro T10
Well he is in Zimbabwe training for the T10, that is clearly not being "well and truly done with cricket".
Re: Zim Afro T10
Ballance let us down badly. I don't think there has ever been a bigger disappointment than that since this forum started. That Scotland game. Deep down I'm sure he knows he would have made a difference. He obviously can still make a difference but man... Some things are unforgivable
Re: Zim Afro T10
I watched his last game against the Netherlands live and I can tell you now maybe only BT is better than him amongst our senior players.

I can't forgive him.TapsC2 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 5:06 amBallance let us down badly. I don't think there has ever been a bigger disappointment than that since this forum started. I’m amazed ZC have.
Don’t get me wrong - he is quality. Or was. Not doubting his immense talent and ability and experience - head and shoulders above almost everyone else in the country.
But he hasn’t touched a cricket ball for years. Surely he won’t be as good as before. And that’s even if he has sorted his head and issues out. If he’s still good then fine, I’d take him back. But I can’t believe ZC will.
As for Donald’s post about needing him for the next qualifiers. Well, if we are relying on a 35 year old twice-retired washed up addict who hasn’t played for two years in order for us to beat Togo, Somalia and St Helena then I reckon we are in even deeper shit than we thought

Ballance
Realistically he was only ever here because he fucked it up in England and nobody wanted him. It’s not like he was desperate to make a career here and put in any hard yards at all. He became a statistical quirk of joining the handful of turncoats to score a test ton for two nations then jacked it in. He let everyone down and burned ZC in a year they needed him. Skills or not, I’d expect loyalty in my changing room and as such I’d never play him again.

Does anyone actually know the full story!! I don’t think it’s as black and white (no pun intended) as you may think. Sounds to me like he was thrown under the bus in England. Can’t believe you’d even question getting him back, even if he did leave at the wrong time!!
