I've said this before. Gumbie doesn't have the shots to open the batting. A Matty Welch and Ben Curran pening partnership would fill me with so much more confidence. The issue is the bias in selection. Both Welch's will need to score heavily in the next logan Cup match to even be considered for the test match. I'd absolutely like to see Nick Welch in there somewhere but again, it's a case of where he fits in. Sounds like Williams could be out for a while
