Dane Schadendorff is going to be one to follow in the years to come. He's signed an extension to his Notts deal for this summer but I would not be surprised if he decides to give Zimbabwe a good crack.

Matthew Welch would easily solve the wicket keeper batter problem 😄

Dane has played here and had an ordinary time of it. MW has outplayed him fairly consistently. He's a good player though and is playing a higher standard of cricket there.

I still think there's a place for Sean Williams in this side. His left arm spin and ability to play the middle overs is something we are missing
I think you are right if we are talking skill, but I just think his body wouldnt handle it. For a non contact sport, he misses wayyyyy too many games.
Maybe wheel him out for the t20 WC or something.

My guess is he was told to step down from T20.
They're using T20 to supposedly bring on young players.

Marumani still unsatisfactory, Gumbie has often been unsatisfactory. It seems a w.k. curse... Who would you suggest as squad w.k., apart from them?
In T20s a replacement for Marumani is tricky. ZC really wanted him to fire because he solved two problems opener and wicket keeper. At the moment the only like for like player is Matt Welch who is not too far from selection. A few good knocks against Canada & perhaps Durham for the A side will put him in the running. But with Madande still injured, Marumani will seemingly keep his place in the side besides his poor showings.

You also missed the obvious solution he is for ZC, he is a modern black batsman who has shown tremendous talent on the local scene. ZC has been crying for such a talent for a while now, its unfortunate that they keep on throwing him in the deep end like that as he is truelly a great striker of the ball. Maybe he needs another extended time back on the local scene doing the yards and getting his head right! He will be the future for Zim cricket, as soon as it makes click in his head! I am backing him big time and really want him to succeed, i just think he is a victim of some political games being played by ZC(see Wes)

Why are they crying for a modern black international batsman specifically? What's so important that they're prepared to overlook other players?

Their agendas, trying to justify that the work they are doing is reaping rewards, i am sure we all know that if a white batsmen is successful for Zim its because their family has the money to provide for the talent nurturing and backing, if its a black batsmen however, then he is very much a product of the system. Anyways i dont want to go into politics, lets just hope they try to handle Tadi a bit better and give him the time he needs to get his head in the right space! I personally do not care about the skin color of the player as long as Zimbabwe is winning ( i am sure many people here do not care as well)

Ya that's not true, Wes was educated in SA. Maru at Falcon College, Dion and Bawa at St George's and a UK university, as elite as you can get here.

We need a Truth and Recociliation Commission to understand the real reason.
