Re: Franchise Round 9 - Pro50 & Logan (3- 9 March)
How does Chatara get man of the match when Vinny totally cleaned up. He might be very useful in Bangladesh
CHRISTOPHER MPOFU: 'The problem was fear of failure. I used to think that when I played, if I didn't do well in one game, I would lose my place for the next one but now I've let go of that'

Surely N.Welch was player of the match

I think Zimbabwe Cricket need to run a training course for people who would like to understand the totally weird points systems they use every season.Googly wrote: ↑Fri Mar 07, 2025 11:03 amSo it looks like they're batting on hoping for an extra bonus point for each additional 50 they get.
So maybe 400 is their declaration point, or will they be greedy and shoot for 450 for one more?
If you assume a draw they will have
5 for the draw
1 for the first innings
4 for bowling them out
5 for second innings batting if they declare at 400.
That's the 15 points they need before they get more from taking wickets in the Eagles second innings.
That's how I see it, but I'm 100% sure I'm wrong![]()

A 5 wicket haul I guess is the equivalent of a 100.
So in theory a 4 wicket haul is about a 75.
If you're going to compare batters with bowlers NW took 2 four wicket hauls and 3 catches. I guess Larry (probably still on a Central) needs the 100 bucks more than Nick and Vinnie

Newman unfortunately ran out of partners

No 10 and 11 faced 45 balls for not a lot of runs. He should have been much more proactive about taking strike. Played very well but missed a golden opportunity.
