He's nursing a shoulder niggle.

Given how old our senior batsmen are and the fatigue fast bowlers experience I think ZC should increase the squad size for these tests that are coming up. 16 minimum but I'm thinking of pushing it to 17 or 18.

We need at least 6 fast bowlers. We can't have Blessing or Richie picking up a long term injury. They need to keep this in mind. Matigimu arrived at the perfect time. My 6 would be the big 2 plus Matigimu, Nyauchi, Newman and Chivanga. The current spinners are not good enough for the teams we are going to play so that's a big worry. Although I'm expecting Raza to play the test matches against England, NZ and SA.

6 fast bowlers, 2 keepers, 1 spinner, 8 batsmen. That can work.

I agree with this.

Can’t afford to get the balance wrong again.
I.e Gwandu and Newman having a bad innings with the ball at the same time.

Spinners becomes the same debate. Do we go a specialist or part timer.

Outside the big 2 I like Matigimu seems he will walk straight into the team but comes in with very little experience at this level. He needs to learn fast. Nyauchi has done all things right for selection and can't be ignored. Chivanga blows hot and cold most of the time. He just isn't consistent enough. Nyamhuri is pretty touch and go but gets a place in the side. Gwandu for now should be playing limited overs cricket.

Interesting times ahead.

Both Gwandu and Nyamhuri have had more bad innings than good. They are not there yet imo. Crazy how Brad Evans isn't even a part of the conversation for test selection.

Remember that time when we had Ray Price, Graeme Cremer, Prosper Utseya and even Greg Lamb? How times have changed.

Wellington will almost certainly be recalled and he and Campbell to do the spinners job in Bangladesh plus part time from Bennett, Williams and Madhevere.

Price, creamer and Usteya

Gee it’s such a classic of never having the right ingredients at the same time.

Just one of those with our pace bowlers now would be huge.
