I would take Burl and Naqvi. Use them along with Bennett and Williams as the spinners. The specialist spinners are worse than the part-timers and offer more with the bat

Kaitano and Wes will definitely be in the starting XI for that first Test in Sylhet. Here's the most probable XI:

Curran
Kaitano
N. Welch
Ervine
Williams
Madhevere
Bennett
Tsiga (wk)
Wasakadza
Ngarava
Muzarabani

Curran
Bennett
Walsh
Ervine
Williams
Naqvi
Burl
Tsiga
Ngarava
Muzarabani
Nyauchi

I don't care how well the DEI selections play in this game. They've been tried countless times at the top level and failed. I have no doubt they'll fail again

And Bennett has never opened bin a red ball game...

So this XI will only ever exist in the imagination.

Bennett is batting at 3 behind DEI Makoni. That means he's capable of opening

The same Makoni who had an outstanding FC season as an opener, and is a totally legitimate pick in this game?

The point stands. Bennett has never opened in a FC game, and therefore is extremely unlikely to be asked to do so in a test match. And if he was, there would be a lot of noise on this forum saying that he has been “set up to fail”.

Any “best XI” with Bennett opening, is a fantasy.

I think similar. If Raza doesn’t want to play for Naqvi then it should probably be Wes based on his last game.
Nyauchi, Gwandu and Evans is 50/50. The latter might edge in due to batting.
Might also be worth trying Maru at number 8

Only one of Welch or Bennett can play I reckon. Green track apparently so 3 pacers are needed.
