We should really be playing the useless West Indies instead of Pakistan. We could beat the useless West Indies.eugene wrote:The key for Zimbabwe now is to not let this be a false dawn. How many of those have we had over the years? We need to punish the Bangladeshis in the ODI series and at least compete with the Pakistanis if we are not yet able to beat them.

A talented batsman but a modest, hardworking character, Stuart Matsikenyeri is the third of three school friends from Churchill Boys High School, Harare to represent Zimbabwe in international cricket. - Cricinfo.

I hope the good form continues into the ODIs too, but no matter what happens it will be the Test win that will be remembered.
In the post-match press conference:
As someone mentioned in another thread, if you're going to trash talk say that the player had a poor performance not that they're a bad player, ie. what BT said...
In the post-match press conference:
The Bangladesh opening batsman (Tamim Iqbal) was confident his side would chase down the target against an "ordinary" bowing attack. Instead, they crumbled, giving Taylor a reason to get his own back. "His [Tamim's] performance was pretty ordinary too," he said.

Just got home from work and checked the results. So proud of the boys. Jarvis and Vitori and mpofu will be a deadly trio what a bit more experience under their belt. Bring on the Pakistani's.

Very very proud of the guys.
Comments like that from players like Tamim Iqbal annoy me a lot. He's no Virender Sehwag or Brendan Mcullum yet himself, and Taylors reply was fantastic!

Great win by the boys. I could only get a few glimpses (literally 15 to 20 mins) of the whole match live, thanks to hectic work over the last week. At least managed to witness BRMT's 100 live. Otherwise, it was occasional glances at scorecard from Cricinfo, end of day scores and discussions at ZCF that kept me in the know. I also refrained from commenting on the match thread - didn't want to jinx it
Great team work. We didn't even need the Legend's services in full, as well as Chig's batting prowess. Very good signs.
But still believe the declaration was a little too adventurous, and BRMT must have handled the Legend's bowling a little better.
All's well that ends well. Congrats to the team, looking forward to the ODIs now...

Utseya will definitely be hungry for wickets , he will work well in tandem with one of the seamers who can act as a strike bowler.

We had 660 visitors on day 1 of the Test, blowing away previous records (typical day last season was around 150 visitors). Tailed off a bit for the rest of the match, but still well above normal.Jemisi wrote:Looks like we achieve the ZCF record. Well past the 50 pages Maehara hoped for. It has been a big week. Looking forward to the next one.
But: 660 visitors, about 40 of which actually post? C'mon, guys, make yourselves heard!
