zimstarr wrote:does anyone know why coventry is not playing he is one of the hardest hitters of a cricket ball in zim . t20 is his bread n butter he hits sixes for fun , imagine its the t20 wc zim needs 30 n there r 9 balls left coventry can grab a victory when all hope is lost .i urge the selectors to give him a chance . at the world cup he was sent to open the batting which is not his normal position and they wr experimenting n it ddnt work out or he only played 3 games had they played him in his normal position he would have relished playing against spin in india . the t20 world cup pitches in sri lanka r spin friendly pitches they would suit him .chakabva ,ervine, matsikenyeri, r not t 20 playersthey r exceptional test n odi batsmen they should go overseas to perfect their craft we cant have the same team playing all three formats

I think his recent form would have been the issue for the selectors. But boy he has got some talent skills , who can forget his inning of 194 against bagladeshis :p .....i still remeber his Six against Brett lee in world cup 2011 in india when he hitted him for six on offside ....not many of the batsmans in the modern cricket can do that easily ..but yeah Chris gayle and imran nazir can surely do :p

May be our beloved chopper needs to spend a bit more time with grant flower our batting coach, if the resources allow may be some batting consultancy on five batesman who have seemed to have lost form over the couple of years eg Terrence duffin, gaving ewing, charles coventry, chamu chibhabha, forster mutizwa. :?: :?:

Matsi should be in the T20 side, although I am coming to the conclusion he should be phased out of the one day side.

Choppa's mind is clearly divivded if he didnnt have the mental strength to get going while he only concentrated on cricket now that he is also running a successful business we can forget him. Thats why it was never a good idea for Chigs to start an academy while he was struggling for form and a captain.

matsikenyeri . the reason that pple dnt rate him is that h hasnt gt a century if hs chosen for t20s h should open the batting like he dd vs new zealand he needs to silence his critics
