Only reason I can think of is to protect the left handed Williams from the offspin of Piedt.
It's ironic in a way that we've managed, for the most part, to see off the new ball threats of Steyn/Philander/Morkel and yet fall in a heap against a spinner on debut.

Like always it's down to how well Taylor performs. I bet just once he'd like to see someone else absorb some of the pressuretakleg wrote:Just hoping we bat out the day but at this rate we're screwed

The hundred is up for Zimbabwe with a number of quick boundaries to Williams

Well, having watched every ball till now, must say that was one hell of a survival effort from Hammy and Mark in the beginning and an excellent counter attack by Hammy and BRMT post lunch. Was that a great delivery or what? The one that got rid of Hammy. Excellent spell this by Peidt. Unfortunate for us though for Hammy was playing flawless cricket after a jittery first over. A couple of nice hits from Willie now. Overall, pleased with the fight shown. Great in fact, by Hammy and Mark.
