Wasn't it Streak he brought him in from no where ??
Nah, Vitori was a hardened domestic stalwart by 2011 when he made his Test debut.
It's easy to forget that Vitori has been around since the bad old days - the 2006 Faithwear series.

In all seriousness, the way the braintrust shielded Vitori from the Bangladeshi's and then unleashed him in the Test match was one of the greatest masterstrokes - probably the greatest tactical masterstroke - in the history of Zimbabwean cricket.

Vitori unlike Prosper Utseya wont be blaming Alistair Campbell for this :D

Perhaps Vitori can reinvent himself into a spinner and pinch-hitting no 3 batsman?

I think it's easier for a seamer to correct their action than a spinner .....

Look at Utseya, Narine and Ajmal these guys just get their actions right ......

Ajmal is not longer the force he was and he knows it, he's in denial thinking he can still make the cut at international cricket

So, it's confirmed... The article says that in certain circumstances, he can bowl domestically... Don't understand that rationale.
Peterhouse U14C 4th change bowler and no. 10 batsman (but only because Aaron didn't have a bat).

Time for him to reinvent himself as our test opener.

During Querls throwing saga which was questioned by batsmen locally, Streak said some horrid things about him so the chances of him being concerned about Vitori are very slim. But you never know maybe it was personal between him and Qerl...
