Better to accept, Zimbabwe doesn't have quality to face this Afghan side, and are struggling since 2014 when they were inexperienced, now these players have become stars after representing and performing in various T20 leagues around the World.

There is a wide gap now in terms of quality between Zimbabwe and Afghans. Though, i predicted Zimbabwe win the series, seeing how Irish faced them with a plan, making Afghans spinners looks flat, its tough as none of the Zim players looked comfortable against spin.

Nabi .rashid .and shahzad are good but the rest are just plain average

But those three doesn't fail against Zimbabwe. One or two of them always comes blazing

PJ did ok when he was opening against Afghanistan previously. We need to try something different. Change the batting line-up or something.you can't expect different results using the same formula every single time. I don't know why these guys don't like to improvise.

I would go with

Mire
PJ
Hami
Taylor
Ervine
Raza
Waller
Cremer
Vitori
Jarvis
Chatara

It's crazy how we have a stronger side than last year but somehow we performed poorly. Let's hope those t20s were just a warm up and streak proves me wrong. I would honestly be disgusted if I see Ervine getting caught at first slip batting at 3 in the first 10 overs again. Try him somewhere else!

The difference I guess is that their top players perform more consistently against us. That is true. Cremer stood his ground in the t20s I can't take that away from him but watching Nabi perform like a true champion against us whilst BT with all his county experience and hundred in the WC struggled really hurt me. He needs to step up. He is on a big salary. That's life. He is a professional. Certain things are expected when you are a professional.

The highest paid player has to deliver at some point. It's not a crazy demand. He has to justify why he is probably the highest paid player out of the 2 teams(excluding t20 leagues)..At the moment I can't honestly say he is any better than Raza Hami or even Ervine. Those 4 guys alone should be blowing this Afghanistan team away. At least 1 century per game from these guys. Its not like we are up against England or India..It just doesn't make any sense.Afghanistan are so inconsistent but somehow they have our number

Taylor should be looking like Virat Kohli against the minnows.
Neil Johnson, Alistair Campbell, Murray Goodwin, Andy Flower (w), Grant Flower, Dave Houghton, Guy Whittall, Heath Streak (c), Andy Blignaut, Ray Price, Eddo Brandes

That opening partnership had become so bad that someone here said "Poor and Dire" for Moor and Mire :D

Agreed. Those 4 guys must get a 100 at least this series, given their seniority and expectations and the quality of the opposition.

Vitori needs to feature in Playing XI. Left arm pacers gets advantage in UAE, won't compare but we can find that Pakistan plays lots of cricket here and their left armers Amir, Wahab has got enough success under lights.

If Vitori finds back his lethal inswing delivery against the right handers, it will be a boost for Zimbabwe before the qualifiers and the odi series will be under tough competition.

My team for the game would be if all are fit of course 1. Hammy 2. Mire 3. Taylor (wk) 4.ervine 5. Raza 6 . PJ 7. Waller ( last chance ) 8. Cremer 9. Vitori 10. Jarvis 11. Chatara . I feel a lot more confident in the 50 over game and I think Taylor needs to come in before ervine an protect him a bit more , his stats at 4 are very good and also Taylor is arguabley our best bat. It was hard to drop blessing as I’m a huge fan and hasn’t put a foot wrong but Vitori has x factor and we need to see if he’s still got
His mojo. Really hoping for a series win to boost the squad before the big qualifiers .
Indian and English cricket is a cult and bazball is delusional and embarrassing. Bumrah chucks it, Cummins has a shocking seam position, stokes is a fraud. Bangladesh shouldn’t have test status, Bradman was a coat.Marco Jansen is good, zim will rise !
