In Sri Lanka in 2 of the games we won we were 172-5 and 172-6 at some point. That extra batsman actually took us home. Only in the first game did our top order actually dominate completely . Do we even have a team analyst?
Because we had that one extra chance for someone to hang around with the one bloke looking good. Seeing Ervine stranded last night probably adds more weight to your claim

All of a sudden people like the 8-3 lineup !!!!

Our batting woes further push the need for Zimbabwe to produce a good fast bowling all rounder to bat 8

When was the last time he bowled? Not the time now to throw him in as an all rounder. He has his spot as a batsman, which makes it all the more reason for him to actually score some runs. His role is not as a pinch hitter.

We always tended to have a decent all rounder in the team. This is where the issue comes in in terms of planning. At the moment, without a decent all rounder, we need to have a team that has a bowling attack that can do the damage, whilst having a longer batting line up.

Is tiripano that bad of an inclusion? Surely he can be 8 but I'm not sure about ODIs

I been thinking about it for a while and I think Mire is probably the best candidate to move to 8. He has to take one for the team maybe. Who then opens with Hami? Maybe PJ or Burl. Having a lower order of Williams Raza and Mire would be decent.

They could test all this out in the next game and maybe get both Tari and Burl to open then we see what happens. We aren't playing for anything now anyway.

No, there are no semis. Only the super 6. Top 2 go to the world cup.
Thanks.

If all goes to plan, Zimbabwe will be battling it out with Afghanistan on NRR to secure that second spot.

Group A:
Papua New Guinea v United Arab Emirates
Ireland v Netherlands
Papua New Guinea v Ireland
West Indies v United Arab Emirates
Netherlands v United Arab Emirates
West Indies v Papua New Guinea

West Indies, Ireland and Netherlands progress to Super Sixes.

Group B:
Zimbabwe vs Nepal
Afghanistan vs Scotland
Zimbabwe vs Afghanistan
Scotland vs Hong Kong

West Indies secure the 1st world cup spot. Second spot is Zimbabwe or Afghanistan depending on NRR.

Mire needs to work on his bowling if he’s to become a bowling allrounder

I still have hope for Jongwe but my hope is dwindling

Jongwe had potential. Didn't he claim 5 wickets for 6 runs against this same Afghanistan side in the UAE as well. Problem is when either Taibu or Streak doesn't like you your chances of playing are as good as 0. That's the one thing that really frustrates me about them. Taibu has an issue with Jongwe and his drinking/partying apparently.

Instead of kicking him out completely they should have pushed him in the right direction. He has tonnes of potential. Just turned 23 and he couldn't make a rising stars squad which had no depth at all even though He was actually in England as well. He could have tried to reform him then.

I wonder who had the issue with Sean Williams about his medical report not being handed in on time for the January tour. Sounds like a Taibu kind of situation where he put his foot down

Jongwe hasn’t been putting out numbers since he and Chisoro had their boozy night out

You can’t blame Streak & Taibu for everything
