This is terrible. Can Zimbabwe even get to triple figures?

West Indies were rattled by Bangladesh for 60 something . But this is not an excuse for mediocre perfomances .I just wish there was a old head who could just cool things down when these collapses start .brmtaylor.com admin wrote:This is terrible. Can Zimbabwe even get to triple figures?

Not that there's much to be happy about at 4/40, but it does give Mutizwa a real chance to build an innings and we'll see what he is made of. If he could get a 60 or 70 (or better) he will probably move past Waller in the race to secure that number six position.
Now Mutizwa isn't batting nicely at the moment, no footwork and missing a lot of balls that are there to be hit - but he is still batting, which is the main thing. It doesn't matter how you score them.
Taylor and Mutizwa should treat this like a Test match now. If they can bat together like this for the next 34 overs they'll get to about 150. But if they are still there in the last 10 overs, then they will obviously try and up the rate so 180 odd is still possible.

Some situations are there for players to prove themselves . The middle order usually gives the flimsy excuse that they don't have enough overs to face .
Taylor -100
Mutizwa - min 50
Chigumbura min 40
Utseya - 30
Price 20
Jarvis 10
Mpofu 10
We can get to 260 , but if only these guys believed in themselves , and let the tempting balls go ,rotate the strike , despatch the bad ball for the odd ball .

Gutsy fight back by Taylor, again, and Mutizwa. Looking at 220+ if they can hold it together. Not enough to win a match so once again we are forced to try make a close game of it to save face.
