Wellington masakadza took zero wickets n scored less than 1 run surely we can squeeze a few good overs from shumba .burl and Wes . And masakadza will never be good enough to bat at number 8
Our tail was just too long

Is this the confirmed team!. Yeah Wellington hasnt delivered with either bat or ball. Zero wickets and Zero runs in consecutive wont cut it, even at domestic level

He needs to take wickets if he is the main spinner like what vandersay does for Sri Lanka . If we ever get to 120-6 we will not make it to 200 with Wellington at 8

Did you guys watch the game? Wellington was putting the pressure on and he is the tightest bowler we have, wickets came by because of the pressure he put on at the other end. The scorecard does not do him any justice but his role in the team is to not take wickets, but to ball tight none runs wielding overs.

Agreed. He bowled two extremely tight overs when they were trying to accelerate and those two overs possibly won us the game.

He’s very difficult to score off

Clearly they didn't. Classic reading of the cricinfo score card and concluding

Forum favorite player (Biased towards)

Doggy - Burl
SZ - Reggy
Donald - Donald Tiripano
Me - Wellington

Anyway, back to the game. Don't want to jinx it but we might lose the toss today and have to bowl first. Could be difficult to contain these wounded lions batting first but we have come of age and should back ourselves now. I would still have gone with Shumba in for Burl/Wes.

Crazy how the result today can make or break your weekend. All the best lads!
Im not saying forum-ite Donald is Donald Tiripano, just, like Bruce Wayne and Batman, no-one has ever seen forum-ite Donald and Donald Triripano in the same room at the same time!!
   surely can't be the same person

I get the point you’re making but even at our lowest point, our specialist spin bowlers where always capable of breaking partnerships, taking wickets AND good economy, most recently Price, Utseya and Cremer. I think sometimes we lower our expectations to our own detriment. If your opening bowlers draw fire blanks, failure to take wickets at 2-4 bowling change will lead to your opponents having 6 odd wickets in hand going into the last 15 overs, where they will have a sufficient cushion to smack everything to the boundary and take the game away from you. If Wellington’s contribution went beyond “two tight overs” like, being capable of scoring ~20 to 30 at no. 8, his apparent failure to take wickets would be justifiable

I've got so much work to do today and I just know I'm not going to get any of it done

Hopefully they bat first, we bowl them out for 50 and we chase it in 5 overs. :D
