Not as bad as showing Sean Ervine in playing XI till a couple of wickets fell in first test

Williams for Regis, and Taylor keeps and Utseya for Price. Otherwise unchanged.zimfan1 wrote:That team is not correct, Regis posted on his Facebook that he was flying home with a broken finger and was out for 6 weeks.Boundary wrote:They dropped Price and we bat first

Ridiculous, we have ACTUALLY dropped Price for Utseya.

Is it, West Indies have several left handers, and Price was not a wicket taking threat during the last test, Utseya can do the job Price does whilst being more of a wicket taking threat.CrimsonAvenger wrote:Ridiculous, we have dropped Price for Utseya.
I'm glad Cremer has not been chucked after one faillure

Yes, I know the offie for left handers was always a consideration. But where do we go for a moment of inspiration or an example of fighting spirit? Yes, that alone must not win a place in the side, but he was a bit under bowled in the last test compared to what Cremer went through, didn't tour NZ last year. So, he hasn't really gotten a run in the test side himself...zimfan1 wrote:Is it, West Indies have several left handers, and Price was not a wicket taking threat during the last test, Utseya can do the job Price does whilst being more of a wicket taking threat.

At least Price wasn't dropped for Maruma.

I don't understand the team selection. A head scratcher, some good decisions and one potentially bad one.
I think it was a fantastic move to keep Cremer. We need to keep faith in players of his ability. I also thought it was a good attacking move to keep Chatara who played well ahead of Mpofu, but I feel badly for Mpofu who has done nothing wrong.
Williams in is fair enough. I would have sacraficed him for a 5 man attack including Mpofu, but I understand why it was done so nothing wrong with that.
But dropping Price? I do not get that at all. They are very similar bowlers, except Price is more experienced and more of a known quantity.
So overall, I wouldn't complain about this team although I think Price would have been a better option.

DOTS sprayed wide balls in limited cricket and T20. God only knows what he will do in Test. Price is priceless and we might pay heavy price for this move.zimfan1 wrote:Is it, West Indies have several left handers, and Price was not a wicket taking threat during the last test, Utseya can do the job Price does whilst being more of a wicket taking threat.CrimsonAvenger wrote:Ridiculous, we have dropped Price for Utseya.

Worried about Cremer. With Mutombozi and M'shangwe in the wings, is this a do-or-die match?
Peterhouse U14C 4th change bowler and no. 10 batsman (but only because Aaron didn't have a bat).
