I personally would give Shumba a go at the top of the order. He used to do it with Wes in the Under 19s and he would get off to a flier every time. He struggles to get going coming in at 5 or 6 but he has ability.
I actually feel like he was unlucky. They had zero issues showing him the door. Look at his record and Marumani’s. Not a bad player actually. These guys are all still young. 22 or 23. Still early days for a batsman

Ya I rate Milton, he'll come good. I don't think T20 is his format though, he can't hit it off the square.

So williams has retired from 20/20 and perhaps Ervine has been retired by ZC or at least overlooked.

The Salamander must be watching this and thinking ffs.

We all assumed Gumbie had shot his bolt for a while after the last series and yet here he is bogging the innings at 35 off 35.

Gumbie was batting so slowly they actually retired him out

Are Salmon and Ebrahim even here yet? I'd heard the former is arriving on Monday. Not much time to prep before India!

I'm sure he's been primed and will just do what Mutendira tells him. We could be getting another Ratshit.

That was exactly my initial reaction too when they announced him. He's a guy with no big international reputation or pedigree - to me it screams guy willing to be a 'yes man' in exchange for a big salary and a big break. The other interviewees were Grant, Sean Ervine and Domingo who all would have been significantly bigger personalities and more demanding....

I hope we are proved wrong.

Let's give him a chance shall we. He hasn't earnt any unfortunate nicknames just yet 🤣🤣🤣.

I see he has cart blanche where it comes to appointing his technical team so I'm sure he is not that much of a stooge

You really shouldn't believe what ZC press releases say.
