Fixtures are out, starts in 3 weeks.

19 October - Zimbabwe v Seychelles
20 October - Zimbabwe v Kenya
22 October - Zimbabwe v Mozambique
23 October - Zimbabwe v Gambia
24 October - Zimbabwe v Rwanda
In the early days of this forum I used to joke that we'd probably be playing Burkina Faso come 2024, I guess I wasn't too far off.
When thsi generation retires. We will not only be playing Burkina Faso, but losing to them half the time.

Glad that Innocent, Chatara and Jongwe have been left out. Sounds like Naqvi may be eligible early next year. Nothing wrong with giving a few youngers guys a go, strange that Gwandu is selected ahead of the other Maposa.

Difficult to say that anyone has been left out who deserves to be selected. Now that Ervine and Williams have stepped back from T2O cricket these are probably the best players we have. I know guys will say the likes of Nick Welch should be in but he has been in terrible form over the last year.

I don’t really think Maposa or Musekiwa are good enough/ready, but worth taking a look at I suppose.

The rest is fine apart from Faraz, obviously. Let’s just hope his money dries up at some point

Tbh these fixtures should on paper be so easy that selection shouldn’t really matter. We should be able to pick basically anyone from about 70 of our leading players and beat the likes of the Seychelles and Gambia ffs

I don’t think Campbell can complain too much about being dropped, but when you compare it to Wes it’s a bit hilarious. Campbell had one bad series and a bit of bad form, yes.

But Wes had had three years of bad form

With the bowling, it is basically a case of going back to Nyuachi and Chatara or having a look at some guys with a bit of promise who can bat a bit. Think the right decision has been made.

Need to get Burl up the order in this series, is Musekiwa is being brought in as a finisher, we can move him up the order. Is it worth giving Marumani the gloves?

Imagine the side will look something like

1) Bennett
2) Marumani
3) Raza
4) Myers
5) Burl
6) Madande/Wes
7) Musekiwa
8) Wellington/Mavuta (Don't need both as Raza, Bennett, Burl can bowl)
9) Maposa/Gwandu/Akram
10) Blessing
11) Richie

Akram most be greasing all the right wheels. Muchawaya must be feeling hard done. Our batting stocks look really bare here.

I'm glad they have given Musekiwa a chance. This is his best format and he has been in good form including 50 against South africa A and also some cameos in afro 10. I like what I see with him.

Will he be good enough against top 12 teams in world? Well the jury is out there but hoping for some good scored from him in this tourney.

Burl makes a comeback which is good. People talk about JCampbell not getting chances and madhevers of world getting heaps. In all honesty we aren't likely to see madhevere near the test squad anytime soon and maybe Campbell was messed around being picked for wrong format first. His games against Indoa should not have impacted his non selection against Ireland in test as his first class form is superb.
Where is knackers and when does he qualify?

Ok Squad. Wouldn't have wanted Faraz and may be Campbell deserved a longer run. A bit harsh on him esp when you consider the long rope given to certain players.

Happy with Maposa and Musikewa and I wish they come good. This should be a walk in the park for Zimbabwe but I'm pleased to see they are not taking anything for granted and have selected a full strength squad.
