So out of this series, can we safely say that we've added Bawa, Naqvi, Welch and Frost to the basket of potential international options? Frost and Bawa have question marks over their heads over availability, but they've shown their worth here.
Really have been impressed with Naqvi. He looks strong and appears to have some fight about him. He's putting the graft in too to his credit

Navqi looks like he puts the work in. He hasn't been spoilt like a few players I could mention.
Re: Zimbabwe emerging vs South africa emerging. First one day match August 13th
Actually Naqvi looks to have put on a bit of weight.
I would think he's not too mobile in the field.

Mango bigging up Bawa and Frost.
Fair call, they've performed well.
Looks like a couple of guys will come off the bench.
Need to ask SA to bat first, no toss
As soon as I see a Zim article "calling" for something miraculous to happen I suffer a mini-stroke.
It's a Zanu war cry that means nothing will change.
They're clearly completely unwilling to start a professional academy staffed with good people, but there is one thing they could do and that's add a 6th franchise. Whitish. Let the white guys that want to, play in a group. I doubt all of them will go for it anyway, and they'd be short of players and need about one third of their team to be black guys, but it would still be considered white. More than 2 would reguire CIO clearance for an illegal gathering, but this Rangers thing has added some real interest.
They held up easily and were missing Myers, Bennett, Marumani, Campbell and Welch Sr.
Welch got them past Takas 1 and 2 with 2 very good innings but then they didn't really need him or the others.
It's an alarm bell actually. A team with 3 or 4 youngsters and a couple of average players easily beating other club sides tells you where we are at.
All they needed was a couple of seniors, a decent captain and they've rolled most of these teams.
Had they not lost to Westside, which they should have easily won and not lost that last ball thriller they'd have won the league comfortably.
Watch next club season, a couple of the black players will be read the riot act by ZC as to where their futures lie. A couple have already. It's an absolute indictment on the system. Those guys need to step back, they've held us up for 25 years.

We're batting again. Lost 3 tosses in a row. These south Africans know toss is vital, they've won the series and still unwilling to bat first.

Mango is "calling" for new blood yet I know of at least 3 better young openers than Kamwemba.
Guarantees he makes runs but doesn't change the fact.

That was the slip catch of the century!

Steve will not endorse mediocrity. I’m telling you now had he been around when Wes was starting, he would be a different player. This is what kids need, not the Houghton approach. The Houghton approach works for seasoned professionals who already have a winning mentality.
Cricket is 50% a mind game. In fact any elite sport is. You can have all the talent in the world but you need to have the mentality. They should bring Andy Flower in as a consultant sometimes to tell it as it is.

Helluva ball but Kamwemba went at that with very hard hands.

No I don't agree. He and a couple of others have one glaring fault. They micro manage and the youngsters are shit scared of them. There's a happy balance between Houghton and Mangongo. A sweet spot.
