Zimbabwe vs Afghanistan (1st ODI)
Re: Zimbabwe vs Afghanistan (1st ODI)
Don't they have a team Analyst for that but then again bet he doesn't even know what his real job is as long as he gets paid.

I reckon there is another hour of light left after the restart. So 15 overs? perhaps a target of 80?

Zimbabwe require another 108 runs with 6 wickets and 18.4 overs remaining

Very much so. Brings back memories of Williams walking off for that boundary line catch in the world Cup against the Irish instead of standing his ground and forcing a review.etoreveyi wrote:Match situation awareness lacks in the Zim team.
However, it wasn't always like that. I remember many ties and one or two run wins against India in late nineties where a lot of people showed great match awareness.
Even that rain affected match in 2003 world Cup against the Namibians, where all the hard work of piling on the runs would have meant for nothing if we could not get 25 overs in. Streak turned to Whithall who did a Ravindra Jadeja and bowled a couple of real quick overs and rain hit the town at 25.2 overs I guess.
Re: Zimbabwe vs Afghanistan (1st ODI)
Hammering Namibia at the World Cup, those were the days. The garbage we are getting served these days is completely demoralising. Imagine how happy we would be if we were as competitive in Bangladesh as Afghanistan is in Zimbabwe?

We don't exactly seem to have international calibre ground equipment.

"The Afghanistan players aren't happy about something , probably the outfield the two batsmen are walking back to the pavilion after having a chat with the umpires now the Afghanistan fielders are marching out of the field"
You see what I mean. Afgan using the same strategy against us.

Reckon this game is off

Game over. Feel we were a bit unlucky but losing 3 wickets for 40 up front was the killer.

Precisely.etoreveyi wrote:You see what I mean. Afgan using the same strategy against us.
Yup, we didn't really help ourselves with the shaky start.zimfan1 wrote:Game over. Feel we were a bit unlucky but losing 3 wickets for 40 up front was the killer.
Re: Zimbabwe vs Afghanistan (1st ODI)
game over apparently. can't blame Afghanistan for not wanting to play. D/L is not a new concept.we should have done better. and we have had a couple of favourable calls ourselves in the last couple of years. the west indies game last year and the Pakistan ODI when they last toured Zim. it is what it is.
