Interesting...
Nathan Buck, Brandon Glover, Charlie Thurston and Ben Curran to leave Northants at the end of the season. Rotten luck for all of them. Ben’s is a particularly poignant tale: what to do when your brothers are superstars.

Not really 'rotten luck' for Curran as such. Exciting potential second phase of his career upcoming.

Any news on Nick Welch? His contract is up this year as far as I know.

And dig this...
Charlie Thurston one of the players leaving or surplus to requirements scored two double hundreds in his last 3 second eleven matches. 283 and 253 i believe

He will be scratching his head and wondering what he did wrong

These Counties make the most bizarre decisions.
Thurston is a damned good player.
Notts just released Budinger, he's one of the most talented batters on the circuit. He's currently flaying the Durham bowlers, who are exceptional, I mean there's not an opening batsman in England who can go at better than 40% strike rate against that attack and he's going at a run a ball.
Leicestershire just released Azhad, which is also a big surprise. He had one really good season in 2021 and was actually being spoken about for an England spot, but runs have dried up. He's a nudger, and there's always a ball with your name on it when you bat like that. Byrom used to do that, but I see he's being more aggressive now and doing well.

I don’t see the point in bringing back Ballance, bring back younger guys who will be around for a while.

And also guys with less baggage

'baggage' and optics is more of a western mentality. Zim wont care about that at all with some slight massaging.

Ballance is a perfect purchase. The highest county run scorer, international quality andan opener potentially served up on a platter to us. Hes only 32, he has 5/6 years left.

Being at the centre of a racial discrimination episode I would suggest is quote heavy baggage when you’re heading back to a country that’s always on the knifes edge of a racial bust up themselves

They won’t care, it was against Indians and Pakistanis.

Besides it’s ZC that’s pushing for him heavily to return.
