Zimbabwe vs Afghanistan (1st ODI)
Re: Zimbabwe vs Afghanistan (1st ODI)
Lessons from today
+ Burl clearly has what it takes
+ Ngavara looks ok
+ Chatara looks to be back to something like his best.
- Not sure Mire opening is the way to go.
- Wrong team selection (two front-line spinners needed)
- Whats the point in playing M Waller if he is batting down at 7 and not bowling?

Dreadful batting as usual when a D/L game was always on the cards, Mire, Ervine, Raza and Burl managed 80 from 143 balls and that's a lot of balls in anyones language, a right load of balls in fact

Well, trying to look at the brighter side of things. My second prediction in succession after that 118 all out turns out to be true too!CrimsonAvenger wrote: I'd rather keep the crystal ball squeaky clean for a 4-1 series win prediction against the Afghans, provided Williams and Hamilton are added to the squad and wet weather stays away.
According to first order logic, in an implication, if the antecedent is false, irrespective of the truth value of the consequent, the overall statement is true. Since the antecedent here, "Williams and Hamilton getting added to the squad AND wet weather staying away" are both false, irrespective of the 4-1 result, the overall prediction remains true

Damn, that was close...duckworth lewis...
Seems like a lot of 50-50 DL results in Zimbabwe recently. Sure makes the game's unpredictable, lol.

Disappointing that willow had this series listed on their site but no real broadcast so obviously willow wasnt able to provide it. Willow did carry the Afghan tour to Bangladesh last year.
Afghans had broadcasters during the home series in UAE which just proves their more financial viable than Zimbabwe.

I can't figure it out either. Why commentate something that nobody can hear?L.S wrote:Shocking from ZC that nobody broadcast this. There was commentary so one wonders wat was going on?
Re: Zimbabwe vs Afghanistan (1st ODI)
I tweeted Dirk Viljoen who confirmed they were commentating for the Afghan broadcast. Was the Pashto commentary only on the YouTube stream?
Neil Johnson, Alistair Campbell, Murray Goodwin, Andy Flower (w), Grant Flower, Dave Houghton, Guy Whittall, Heath Streak (c), Andy Blignaut, Ray Price, Eddo Brandes

No, I watched the official Afghan TV broadcast, I think, complete with all "Join the Afghan Air Force", "The Aghan Army is your Friend" and "Dear Taliban, give up your guns" ads, and the English commentary was always in the background. The Afghan commentators turned the volume of the English broadcast up when they took a break for whatever reasons, and when the Afghan team manager was interviewed in English they kept quiet for a few minutes.eugene wrote:I tweeted Dirk Viljoen who confirmed they were commentating for the Afghan broadcast.
