[Match Thread] Zimbabwe v Afghanistan, 4th ODI
Re: [Match Thread] Zimbabwe v Afghanistan, 4th ODI
This is Zimbabwe's most embarrasing series ever. Losing at all to Afghanistan is unacceptable, let alone losing twice and being thrashed by 100 runs.
Neil Johnson, Alistair Campbell, Murray Goodwin, Andy Flower (w), Grant Flower, Dave Houghton, Guy Whittall, Heath Streak (c), Andy Blignaut, Ray Price, Eddo Brandes

At home too. This certainly ranks up there with losses to Kenya in the darkest days.

Come on folks, let's get some perspective. Loosing to Afghanistan is about as unacceptable as it is for Pakistan to loose a Test match in Zim or Bangladesh to square an ODI series against us in BD (or NZ loosing in BD or WI loosing at home to NZ ...). We were the favourites, no doubt, and we were embarrassed in games three and four, but in reality there is no gap to speak of between Zim and Ireland or Afghanistan. Not playing them very often might have created some delusions of grandeur, but both those teams have proven that they are more than competitive against the full members, often more than we are.
Again, we should have taken the series, but you guys make it sound as if we are Australia in it's pomp playing at home against BD on their first ever overseas tour.

I think what is scaring most commentators is that,Ireland, Afghanistan,Netherlands are getting better and better whilst we continue to get worse and worse- yet other test nations hold their strength or get better.Come on folks, let's get some perspective.
