Burl's omission itself is an example when perennial failures like Marumani and Shumba are selected over him.Marshmallow wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2024 2:23 pm
Tbh Burl's omission is unbelievable.
Chatara - he can definitly claim his spot because he played decently after his exclusion from national squad.
Faraz - only reason he is there because of evans injury.
Marumani - Backup keeper and unsurprisingly he bossing the domestic arena.
Can you please point out the reason you felt ZC is racist. I can't digest how can anyone randomly say board is recist when a white player omitted but they are blind when black player not even considered for regional squad !
Welch getting dropped after a few failures, Evans always got dropped after one or two failures, Jonathan Campbell got his chance after so long and I won't be surprised if he gets dropped on having a poor series here.
I don't even want to go into the past more so because I don't argue with fools, so stay in your fantasy world.
Welch dropped because he not getting any runs in the franchise level even in the club. Good thing is he finally coming back to what he was.
Evans injured, and you not mentioned about kaia he also dropped many times
Burl omission is some sort of surprise but he is played more than 100 matches and not really justified his seat. There is no doubt about his talent but need a kick to enhance it. Every time he got free pass really want to make him more hunger.
Marumani is backup keeper and i also hope zc use him in the lower order wherehe doing good with rangers.
Still you only cared about white player i don't know why that, mufudza playing really well and selectors don't even calling him to regional matches. If you're too care about betterment of ZC point them too.
It's not about racism it's purely favouritism.
Finally am just posted my opinion in ZC forum where healthy discussion happening. Everyone have the right to agree or disagree so calm brother come out of the usual twitter racism comments

Burl is one of our better players and he did really well in the domestic T20 but I do agree with them dropping him for this series. He has to pull up his socks and take more responsibility in every format. I saw someone saying he can play the Ireland test but he hasn’t played a FC match since December 2022 for example. He has only played 30 FC games at 30. Jonathan Campbell has played 30 games too and he is 26. You can’t blame that on injuries or T20 gigs.
My main point is that he needs to rethink his career and actually ask himself what he wants to achieve. We kill Wesley here but he is 23 with 12 international half centuries. Burl is 30 with 8 international half centuries. Batting position doesn’t matter here because we collapse on a regular basis. He is barely bowling these days too. Campbell is an existential threat to him if he is not careful. Like Secret said, maybe he should move up the order. I actually think he could be a good opener in T20s

Dropping a player who is most suited to this format is horrendous. Cannot be justified when you see the players who has replaced him.
Re: ZIM VS IND T20i | July 6 - July 16
Of course Campbell and Burl can play together. I don't agree with most of the comments on this forum. It's not hard to pick a competitive team. People on here think you need to name 5 bowlers ffs.
Re: ZIM VS IND T20i | July 6 - July 16
lol nobody is saying that, bros are saying in an ideal world they’d be competing for the same slot in the side. Some bros would have their XI made up of two batters, six guys who can bat a bit and spin it a bit, a keeper and two quick bowlers ideally all murungus and their personal favourites even more questionable selection criteria than the actual board.
Re: ZIM VS IND T20i | July 6 - July 16
When Naqvi was playing in Pakistan this year I think he was opening. Maybe that’s where he will play. Naqvi and Bennet is an interesting combo. I would be shocked to see Wes walk straight back into the side but you never know.

We should be pumping our best two batsman up top. Theres only 20 0vers and that is when the powerplay is in effect. Too many posters are thinking in 50 0ver terms.

Indeed, Raza and whoever.
Re: ZIM VS IND T20i | July 6 - July 16
Probably Raza and Bennett are the best options
