1ST ODI SRI LANKA VS ZIMBABWE
Re: 1ST ODI SRI LANKA VS ZIMBABWE
Finally a wicket. Come on boys!
Re: 1ST ODI SRI LANKA VS ZIMBABWE
Just checking the stats of this ground, surely batting first is an advantage and by the look of it 296 is surely a winning score historically.
Anyways let's see.

There is always that 1 strange selection with Zimbabwe. Always..

Chatara is 31 this year. Surely Chivanga being around the squad is better than this

Zim needs early wickets to put pressure and increase the RR else dew will make the bowlers venomless

Chatara needs a break now. His 129 kph wont trouble batters in this flat pitch. If no Ngarava then bring Raza as left hander is at the other end

Larry is now facing the consequences of not reinventing his game. He would get away with some lines when he was young and quick. He is still bowling the way he bowled back then but waaay slower. Either Larry readjusts his game or he now needs to be a valuable domestic bowler.

Black players never do this. They’ll milk every last drop unless there’s a gig waiting for them in retirement. I can see why but it’s humiliating.
Larry is done. He’s had some terrible injuries.
He retires after this series he will maintain his legacy. But I suspect he won’t and will need a push. Then come back after a good Logan cup game and injuries.

Re: 1ST ODI SRI LANKA VS ZIMBABWE
So anyone who has watched the domestic streams this season and those North/South games probably wouldn’t pick Chatara in the eleven.
Picking him isn’t great. But come on - the real crime here is breaking by up our effective new ball partnership. If you’re going to play Chatara then at least ask him to try and play a containing role a bit later in the game. Ngarava has done nothing to deserve a demotion!!!
People criticise Jongwe for no reason, but he offers a point of difference and makes things happen.
