The BCCI, sorry, I mean - ahem - 'the ICC' - aren't going to pass a rule to the detriment of themselves.

These organisations are one and the same.
The BCCI and their apologists thought the Big 3 financial model (the one where BCCI alone took 60% or 40% of the ICC pot) would never be rolled back. In the end they weren’t able to twist as many arms as they thought they could and the more equitable current model was passed (BCCI still gets the lions share but it’s closer to like 20%).

It’s possible if there is a will amongst the other 8-10 countries.
It’s not funding that’s the issue (well, it is lol….but that’s another issue(. It’s the fact that almost every single person in any position of power in the ICC are BCCI stooges - hardly anybody gets on the board or any committee without the approval and vetting of the BCCI, and to a lesser extent the ECB and CA.

The ICC effectively has no independent power or voice anymore

How much is the PSL making? I was reading more about this issue and the PCB head was saying they can take a 3 million dollar loss because the PSL is making them less dependent on ICC money. Interesting. I guess this is why CSA pushed for their league. I wonder how much these other leagues generate

Not sure about the board, but pretty sure all the franchises are yet to break even.

I found it interesting. Definitely the boards and the franchises are in different positions. Here he is saying the PSL money is the same as the ICC allocation. I think they made $12 million this year. So if this is true then a successful franchise league is key for survival.

In our own little world ZC apparently is already guaranteed 300k as a licensing fee for the T10. If they can push it up to a million it's a start

First game between ireland and Bangladesh washed out confirming s.a in the worldcup. Ironically Cricket ireland chose to play outside of ireland so that they have the best chance towards three completed games without rain .

I don't hold out much hope but you never know.

We'd need a completely fit and available squad at our disposal, as well as in form players and other teams to mess up. Otherwise we're done for and, much like last time, we'll see a huge backlash and no doubt 2 or 3 retirements. I know of 2 players who are already considering retirement before the qualifiers have begun

Who?
Why would anyone want to retire before the qualifiers?
Only possible reason is PTSD if they don't pull it off.

West Indies and UAE are playing a series against each other while Sri Lanka and Afghanistan are also playing a series as preparation for WCQ.

Zimbabwe have only managed Pakistan A, which is a decent side but I would have liked international games.

A little disappointing from ZC.

PCB chairman Najam Sethi has now publicly said that Pakistan won't travel to India for the WC if India don't travel to Pak.

The worst part here is that the ICC are literally a non entity. They don't know how many slots should be open during Qualifiers, how many teams will play in the WC, where will the matches be held if Pak plays at neutral venue... All this with the main event just 5 months away... I don't understand why does the ICC exist at all?
