People have already forgotten the Sri Lankan spinners went for plenty

Im not blaming anybody. I'm just saying let's see if this was a better strategy. The point of a test match if you are a minnow is not to losezimbos_05 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2020 10:16 amThe whole point of the game is to score more runs. You can't really blame the middle order guys here, they did their job.TapsC wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2020 9:49 amSo we scored about 50 runs more with a more positive approach but batted about 30 overs less. So 50 runs versus 1 session? I don't know. I guess we will see how this test plays out. It will settle the debate
Mutombodzi is the perfect number 8 for me in all formats with Burl opening. Then Hami guaranteed Chamu a place in the team smh. In fact I would bat him higher than Regis if I was in charge. Let's see if he can contribute with the ball. Definitely better than Ainsley.

Test cricket is brutal. Sri Lanka can bat at 3 an over for 2 and a half days and bowl us out on the 5th day. Run rate has got absolutely nothing to do with it in my opinion. The ability to take 20 wickets does.

Aliseni pace was a mythological folk ,much like the tales of seeing a Snake legs or rather meeting a mermaid.TapsC wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2020 12:23 pmMpofu is our fastest guy. I been say in this. Aliseni was as quick as vitori from the couple of games I saw. Gave guys some real problems when he was at his best. He gave up a little too early as he didn't need the peanuts the franchize players were getting at the time.

Didn't mean to sound critical when I asked about Mumba's pace, was just curious if his injury had affected him.
He has squared up the batsman a few times this innings, so even if he has lost some speed at least he is still troubling the batsman.

I totally agree TapsC. Like I said earlier the way we batted was entertaining but a surefire way to lose. All we did was give SL more time to post a mammoth total - which they will do because this is without doubt the most toothless bowling attack we've ever gone into a Test match with.TapsC wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2020 12:25 pmIm not blaming anybody. Our strategy in the last game got us to within an hour of a draw - which I think proves we were on the right track.

He's getting some good turn. It's probably all down to him as to whether we make any inroads.
Masvaure just dropped one...

You could even see Aleem Dar groaning.

Masvaure drops one looked like a tough chance.
Nice to see Raza getting some purchase!
Chawaguta has impressed me with his commentary.
