Was out the entire day and couldn't watch a single ball but saw the scorecard as soon as i got free and was shocked and shattered to see it . Worst day as a zimbwean supporter in my life. Also read few comments here don't think Raza was that bas as a captain by giving chatara that over . Previous two overs were bowled by ngarava and muzarbani and they bowled well. Obviously Raza thought another pacer is the way to go . Cause In such a situation giving spinner is quite risky as batters tend to line them up and score 15-20 ending the game. Obviously Raza went with safe option . Chatara is there as a premier bowler with so much of a xperience right ?

The quotas years ago stopped cricket in its tracks. They've now mostly removed them, but there's still bias, thats not going away any time soon.
Now there's only about 8 maroon goose playing and everyone's happy.

Good that you didn't watch Tej. It was a depressing watch. I saw the game even though my daughter is not keeping well and we are having so many things on our mind... I'm very emotional right now, we as fans deserve better. I just don't know, I'll probably take a break for some time.tej_27 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 26, 2023 12:47 pmWas out the entire day and couldn't watch a single ball but saw the scorecard as soon as i got free and was shocked and shattered to see it . Did we expect anything different with same players??
When we only just got past Oman in world cup i feared the worst. Its the same group of players. We do need change. A decent third change pacer would be an obvious start. Gwandu Chaitara and murombo ceiling would be so much higher if they had an opportunity earlier. Chatara is playing on previous reputation only before he had that leg break. He has been awful.

It's so bad especially for fans like us who are not Zimbabwean by nationality as we can't even share with this with folks around us . It makes absorbing the loss all the more difficultsam_ahm wrote: ↑Sun Nov 26, 2023 12:57 pmGood that you didn't watch Tej. It was a depressing watch. We have a duty to pick our best side.secretzimbo wrote: ↑Sun Nov 26, 2023 12:33 pmSorry but these performances continue to prove this position wrong.
Wellington may or may not be the answer - that’s a separate debate.
But name me a single successful T20 side, franchise or international, without a top class specialist spinner a big part of their success. In any conditions.
Our all rounders are not good enough, consistent enough, reliable bowlers in this format. They just aren’t and they continue to prove it.
We made two glaring errors that we all saw coming and they cost us big time.
We may not have a world class spinner, but Williams and Raza are most likely the best spinners we have in the country and fortunately they make the team on batting ability.
That’s a huge asset we just wasted.

The truth is cricket fans in Zimbabwe get the same feeling. Side, niche sport.tej_27 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 26, 2023 1:11 pmIt's so bad especially for fans like us who are not Zimbabwean by nationality as we can't even share with this with folks around us . First message of the day, watched the game slightly behind because of a work commitment.
Just caught up with the messages.
One thing no one is putting on here is how well Uganda played, I said from the start this team is really good. I don't think it as much a Zimbabwe decline but a rise from Uganda and Namibia.
African cricket over the past few years has improved massively, both Kenya and Uganda fighting for ODI status, Namibia being arguably the strongest associate (I know they had that dip last year to prevent wc qualifier qualification) but they are a well built side.
Even Tanzania are now fighting for a place in the challenge league.
Rwanda and Nigeria are both still behind but they have both had significant investment over the past few years. Rwanda have a great coaching setup and investment from the MCC. Nigeria have setup a partnership with Kenya to improve training facilities and pitch quality.
I know today is a massive disappointment for everyone myself included but let's not give up, we still have a chance of qualifying so let's try and get behind Dave and the lads!
