Well if NW was fielding he's surely fit to play? Why would they say he had a niggle when he doesn't? Begs an answer!
I'm convinced/I know an extra batsman was the way forward in that game. And I'd have picked Jongwe as well.
I think Raza got those bowling changes wrong. Who's the vice captain as a matter of interest?
Anyway it's all moot now.

ZC are about to scalp someone, not scapegoat, so let's point out clearly where the very real problems lie. Players always give of their best, nobody is trying to lose. I rarely single out players. I'll point out what I think are mistakes, but I'll not often eviscerate a player.
Look at the disgusting things said on social media about Chatara. He's there doing his best and fucked it up, shit that can happen to anyone, and does. A game is won by someone doing something amazing or someone blundering or a combination of those. It's a nasty old game.

BUT let's put the best team on the park! That must be about the easiest job there is. Put aside whatever prejudices you may have, who you may want to do well, despite having not done so for the previous 5-10 years.
Put pathways in place, get an academy going, they've had 30 years to plan it, there must be drawings somewhere
Call an immediate halt to the Batonka stadium. The thinking will be let's make it even bigger so the players play better.
The problems are at the top, but nobody will fall on their swords.

Dave instilled no confidence and belief in the boys last year. They performed when he first arrived as they were free from Rajput. Raza being in his purple patch just covered the cracks like people said at the time and it made Dave look good.

Quota/Takashingaism/Shona bias. Call it what you want, it amounts to the same thing.

Raz Dawg’s captaincy was awful, worse than Ervine’s. No idea how he lost the plot and messed up the overs today. As if Larry the worst of the lot ended up bowling his full quota when the spinners on a friendly deck still had overs left is anybody’s guess.

Wellington in at six; Dave, Raz Dawg, whoever came up with that needs to lay off the pampers juice.

Worst part is we can call all kinds of names for the chop, who’s replacing them?!

Don’t know if this was the worst game I’ve ever seen but it does rank up there. Literally everything that could go wrong did. There’s no pinning the blame on any one individual this time either. The whole team and every decision they made stunk.

Not going to this WC is going to cost us a couple of mill, never mind the mortification of not qualifying yet again.
There's still a sniff so let's not cry just yet, but we need serious people to start fixing this disaster. Step back from the money and let grown ups take over.

There are no excuses here. Nor is there any reason to retain the core players now. Total clear out is coming. I like Houghton but he's failed to qualify for 2 world cups. He's done. The board are total deadwood and should all go. But we know they won't. How they've highjacked Zim cricket is a crime. Thieving swine.

Sack the high earners and use their contract money to broaden the cricket base. Train more coaches and develop grassroots cricket. The base is too narrow.

Take the juniors to the next campaign. It can't be worse.

Lastly, select on ability. Not connections, tribe, race, etc.
Absolutely, I'd much rather lose with a fresh squad if we are going to lose to the likes of Uganda anyways.

The core players need to go, I don't mind that now.

The replacements won’t fare much better. It’s sad but true. Most of the guys in this squad are pretty much the best cricketers in the country.

Ya it’s a sad indictment of everything from the top down that the big three in the twilight of their careers are by far the best we’ve got. Same could be said about most of the squad to be fair. The cupboard is bare.

The thing that sucks the most for me is you know this is coming but you convince yourself this time will be different

The manner of it too, it stinks worse than some of the toilets in Matapi flats. Bottled it or what?! At least the Scotland game you could say Sole was banging it in at 150 which few if any of the boys will have seen before, there was none of that today.

Can’t see them winning more than a couple of games against Ireland when they come. The confidence must be so low after this trainwreck.

That is exactly my point, what we have there is the best we have.
Any changes or reactions targeted at the team are uncalled and will certainly not change the team. The team did their best, they also want to go to the world cup and receive a fat cheque too but ZC has just regressed to this level. The domestic league and grassroots teams are in such a sad state, why do you have a Remembrance Nyathi contracted and playing whilst younger talented players can’t get a chance. Remove the 6-7 above the rest players in the national team then the rest are very much pub/club players respectfully. Fix the domestic scene coaching/selection/gametime and we start from there. For the national team a quick fix is to throw money to any decent players 6-7 eligible for us outside our domestic scene, that will at least bring decency whilst a long term plan on the domestic front is being implemented.
