[Match Thread] UAE v Zimbabwe (World Cup Pool B)
Re: [Match Thread] UAE v Zimbabwe (World Cup Pool B)
I'm not sure why chinouya or even bobby mpofu weren't picked ahead of UTSEYA. I liked what I saw of chinouya and has been in good form. Think he has been treated pretty unfairly actually

The one thing that I enjoyed when we were batting is that we appeared to have some composure. Many times in the past we would have fainted at the mere prospect of trying to chase anything over 220. Taylor and Williams need to use the sweep sparingly. Hammy really has an Achilles heel with that particular line and length ball, but he's a great player, Raza just needs to keep swinging and not try and change too much.
We are seriously lacking fire power in our bowling department, it's a big problem. There's no harm in giving Prosper a go because we need to know if he can do anything useful. Chinouya is a lion hearted guy and deserved a shot. How the hell did Makoni slime his way over there? Please don't tell me he continues to have a say??
We just have to get used to the fact that we are near the bottom and enjoy our wins.

Bowling/Fielding was piss poor (apart from Chatara).
Batting was OK but would like to see one of the top 4 push on a make a BIG score.
Williams played very well, that shot down the ground to finish it off was pure class.
West Indies game will be interesting, lets hope they lose to Pakistan destroying any self confidence they have left.

I think UAE played very well. They were lot better than the team whom we beat in the last T20 WC. Considering Scotts beat Irish fair n square in warm up, I will not be surprised if UAE beat Ireland. And that can happen. With yiu on this CA.CrimsonAvenger wrote:I'll be rooting for UAE against Ireland

England - the new minnows in cricket.... http://www.espncricinfo.com/icc-cricket ... 56415.html
And I agree with Dr. Situ, UAE played really well..... They beat Afg 3-1 recently and I think they have what it takes to beat Ireland. Ireland doesn't have a world class bowling attack and I think Naveed and Javed will challenge their batsmen with their swing. And Naveed is actually pretty quick. His average speed was around 137 kph against Zim.

None of our bowlers seemed to get the kind of swing Naveed(that too at good pace) and Javed got(except maybe Chatara).....
He would have troubled the UAE batsmen with his pace, bounce and aggression....
True. Chinouya is in good form.jimbo wrote:I'm not sure why chinouya or even bobby mpofu weren't picked ahead of UTSEYA. I liked what I saw of chinouya and has been in good form. Think he has been treated pretty unfairly actually

UAE have no chance against Ireland. They are the weakest of the 4 associates at the cup. Officially might be 3rd if they beat Scotland at the WC qualifier, but on form they are the weakest. And Ireland dominate at Associate level. They didn't just beat the WI, they annihilated them in 300 chase in 45 overs with basically 6-7 wickets intact.

Time to get rid of these mismatches and boot those minnows out of future World Cups.grant wrote:England - the new minnows in cricket.... http://www.espncricinfo.com/icc-cricket ... 56415.html
