Schardendorf's timing is just off. Madande is slowly cementing himself. He'd have to have an exceptional run of it to "fast track" himself. Madande looks like he could become a very useful player.
The formula for anyone is easy- make big runs, preferably hundreds and be consistent.

Gumbie could at some point become an unfortunate casualty in 50 over because he hasn't done a lot wrong. I've been mighty impressed with him, but he struggled to change gear. Whilst we need to get to 15 overs without losing wickets we also need someone who can kick on. Clive is a better keeper 7 than Joylord.
Joylord is a better keeper opener, but if someone else takes an opening slot then Joylord has to dig deep. He should surely be able to improve his run rate? His defence is excellent and that's most of the battle.
Keeper opener is a tough gig.

Maybe that's why Madande was opening yesterday.

Yeah the Gumbie one is a tough one but then I remember how the 2 games we lost in the qualifiers were the games Gumbie got out early. If he got out early against the West Indies it might have been a disaster there too.

It's a shame we don't play Tests anymore because between them Gumbie and Innocent have a lot to like about them. Would be great to see them develop a partnership in that format.

Alas 1 Test every 3 years doesn't really lend itself to that.

Mediocre hundred for him today, run a ball or something and just the one six. This ain’t the Logan cup yo, needs to work on that strike rate. He should have brought that home for the Rhinos.

Well he was ran out for the 9th wicket 18 runs short of the target and with 6 overs left to go. He could and should have won that for his team playing low risk cricket. If he had, he’d have got a ZCF knighthood and his green mamba there and then. Choked like his hero Raza at the qualifier and in that Namibia series.
