"Pressuring" someone to stick to a contract they've signed is hardly wrong of them. That said, it's not really possible to keep someone who really wants to leave - Hampshire will know this and may just be posturing to get the best possible severance deal for themselves.

Correct me if im wrong but im sure i read somewhere that Ervine is out of contract, i think this final year they are talking about is an option with Sean has to take up, as far as i know its not binding.

If I was close to hampshire I would stone them for killing Zim Cricket .They can afford to find someone else for County but Zim has no options.

Why who else from Zimbabwe has played for Hampshire...
Well there's Lamb but he's well and truly in thick of things with Zimbabwean Cricket.
And I wouldn't say we're struggling neither, our player base is beginning to get bigger

Precisely. It would be nice to have him back. He is a talent. But our side is gathering strength and getting better with every passing month.
A talented batsman but a modest, hardworking character, Stuart Matsikenyeri is the third of three school friends from Churchill Boys High School, Harare to represent Zimbabwe in international cricket. - Cricinfo.

Am loving this . This means bad news for Australia in the WC . Ervine had a good time against the Aussies and I hope he will be in top form .

Don't forget mate, Ervine hasn't played ANY international cricket for over 6-7 years.
Walking onto the WC stage and scoring runs against the Oz, Pakistan and the black caps will be tough.
But i must admit.....I'm loving it too ;) :D

He's kept himself fit by playing County Cricket however - given that's he's first-choice for Hampshire he should waltz in for Zimbabwe.
