Did you watch the T20's or Odi's against New Zealand? Meth was the only one who troubled the batsmen.
He was unlucky and should be given more chances. He had lbw's turned down and catches dropped.
Type "Keegan Meth" into google news and sort by date , you will see batsmen and trouble together and that is all you will see.

I watched all games and I can tell you how desperate the bowling looked before Meth came into the picture.
I have defended the 0/85 several times before and I am not going to do it again now.

Yea okayyyyy T20 and ODI cricket....fine, I have no doubt that keegan will be a very effective bowler. But I'm talking about test cricket mate, that's what we should be looking for; a bowler like Heath Streak who can consistently take wickets in test matches. All of Jarvis, Mpofu and Vitori have shown that they can do this. I have doubts about Meth leading the attack in the test arena because of his lack is pace. Yea, his nip and swing will be affective in ODI cricket with the new ball, but when it's older he'll get exposed as we've all seen on more than one occasion this summer...

What makes us think he will not be effective in test cricket? He is the leading wicket taker at domestic level and it is my firm belief he will do a better job than the other three.

He can perhaps get some reverse? In any case he should be tried first.

Meth will get a chance. The attack is not completely settled and there are not too many ahead of him. With injuries and such, he'll get a cap sometime.

Silly, silly, silly, silly...!!! That's rather like Taylor, Taibu, or Sibanda suddenly having a reversal of form and their places in the squad questioned. This has been your most consistent player in the Logan Cup AND national team for the past three seasons, who was dominating WAY before Vusi and Taylor found their feet in international cricket and you want to drop him. Your best number three?

In my opinion Hami's bad form has been offset by those T20s they are playing him, in which he's entirely unsuited to. That's the same when you push through players like Ervine and Williams an that format, because two bad innings can easily translate to four bad innings once they moved on to the test and one dayers and suddednly you're under pressure when you needn't be.

Lets simply play players to their strengths, we have a large enough pool to do so now. By all means drop him from that T20 squad and give it to one of these young guns, but dropping him from the test squad is a folly which we'll start regretting immediately.


PS: And what precisely has Craig Ervine achieved to immedaiately warrant a return into the squad? That 82 on Wednesday? Come on guys, lets be serious. He can compete for that sixth slot with the Mtizwas not a premier number three slot. That's not child's play!!

Used to play with the lad club cricket .......The boy can hit the ball very hard He is mostly at comfort vs the quicks , but vs Spin or slower bowlers he is always found wanting , he should learn to play more spin .Sending him to a sub continent academy will probably remedy this weakness.
