You can’t straight drive a ball bowled at your head, you’ve got three options, Hook, duck or ramp it over the keeper. On big grounds like we have in Australia, you better be good at hooking otherwise you’ll get caught in the boundary every time, like Raza did in Townsville.
But you can duck a ball bowled at your head. You don't have to swing at every single ball, especially when it's cramping you up. It's T20, not test, they can't bowl a bouncer every single ball. Our guys do not have the repertoire to play those shots, so we need to adjust. Batting is also about forcing the bowler to bowl what you want.

Not really a good comparison that one Zimbo, Andy player during a much different era where scoring quickly wasn’t as important. These guys have 120 balls to score as many runs as possible, they can’t afford to not score off the short ball.
It actually makes sound sense. Yes, it's T20 and less balls to score off of, but if you immediately show that you will not be tempted by it or drawn into it, the bowler has to switch up. The captain also then has to think that he can't go to his seamers and needs to turn to spinners. We have seen multiple times in T20 that you don't need to hit every single ball. Bowlers can't bowl short every single ball, so you can afford one or two dots if it gets the bowler bowling how you want.

The bowlers won't switch it up if we duck every short ball. They will take a free dot ball every single over

I'd rather the one dot ball than go out. You can't bowl 6 bouncers. Bowlers are allowed 1 per over in T20. You guaranteed to have a wide if you keep doing it. They are bowling the short ball to take a wicket because they know it's a weakness. If they don't take a wicket and you are keeping the run rate ticking against the spinners and slower pace bowlers, the strike bowlers are then forced to mix it up to take a wicket and will know that the short ball isn't an option.

I'm not saying we shouldn't hook, or pull shots, but it's clear that we go out more often than not when we attempt to. So we need to adjust until we can find ourselves in a position where these shots are not wicket taking opportunities.

Guys, what is this Pak Bean thing going on in Zim? I'm confused and amused... :)

Still unclear if that guy is a fraud or just doing this for fun.

Rowan Atkinson could very well come up with one final movie in the Bean series - "Adventures of Mr. Bean - from Lahore to Harare".

Back to the game though. This Pak pacers lineup could be the most lethal in the competition, so I have very little expectations. Just hope that it doesn't get too ugly. But knowing us, we might play them well and collapse to their spinners

It is Top 4 from each group.

Afghanistan won't have to qualify because the hosts (WI + USA) and the next best 2 ranks will qualify automatically. Afghanistan will go through on ranking.

Zimbabwe are also likely to go through on ranking (11th) unless Ireland or Netherlands sneak into top 4. Zimbabwe have a better ranking than both Ireland and Netherlands.
I'm not understanding this. I get that WI and USA will go through automatically. Neither team is in the top 8 in rankings. Oh wait, the next WC is 20 teams...so will they still have a Super 12? Or will it be a Super 10? ICC keeps changing the formats every time, lol.
We don't know the format yet. 12 teams will qualify directly and 8 will have to qualify through regional qualifiers. There is no Global qualifier.

It will be interesting if Ireland and Zimbabwe both finish in top 8 and Afghanistan don't, that could mean Afghanistan will gave to qualify through Asia qualifiers.

No they don't .cause along with westindies and usa . Teams finishing in top 8 of this worldcup and then next two teams based on rankings will qualify directly . That means total of 12 teams ..next two teams on rankings are zimbabwe and Afghanistan

Need Wes to bat at least 8 or 9 overs here. He seems fairly composed against decent pace. We better than the rest at least.
