Yeah some ridiculous disparity. There's always room for Moneyball choices.secretzimbo wrote: ↑Fri Dec 23, 2022 1:26 pmThis auction is hilarious though. Top quality comedy entertainment at times.
The vast over-rating of anyone just because they are English or especially Australian is comedy gold. Cameron Green going for that amount whilst Raza only gets 50 lakh?
16 Cr for Pooran as well. That guy is one of the most over-rated players I've seen.

This pretty much played out as I predicted. He would be picked up as a moneyball purchase as he is still a hit if an unknown, but one that can have an upside to turn a game.
If he performs, next year you’ll seee the bidding war and he will be seen as a shakib Al Hassan type.
It’s on him.
The India and Bdesh series was his job interview for the ipl and this will be his job interview for his big money promotion.
Shame it’s all happening at age 35 not 25.

Yeah it is a shame it’s taken him this long to get here, even though it’s remarkable he got there at all. But Raz is one of the fittest guys going around, he’s in the form of his life and since he doesn’t play that much long form cricket, there’s no reason why he can’t play the circuit till he’s 40.ZIMDOGGY wrote: ↑Sat Dec 24, 2022 1:20 amThis pretty much played out as I predicted. Whether or not he could play IPL till his 40 is another thing, but if he takes his chance this year that should ensure he gets another year or two at least there.

The only thing I think is teams might not want to invest in a 37 year old for example, but then again, IPL is really more an all stars short term format.jaybro wrote: ↑Sat Dec 24, 2022 1:30 amYeah it is a shame it’s taken him this long to get here, even though it’s remarkable he got there at all. Re: Raza in IPL
True: I firmly believe that Zimbabwean players just lack chances of experience in top world leagues.
If one day Muzarabani wil be drafted, he would dramatically benefit from such involvements.
For the time being, my sincere congratulations to Raza: he deserves this opportunity.

Livingstone ruled out of Punjab Kings first game — so Raza could get in as his replacement.

Let's hope he has a good one and can cement his place. Deserves it.pillowprocter wrote: ↑Wed Mar 29, 2023 11:51 amLivingstone ruled out of Punjab Kings first game — so Raza could get in as his replacement.
