Does anyone here know what exactly Shingi has done to deserve this ill-treatment? His exclusion from this Test (and other occasions before) is just unbelievable and without reason. Is it just me?

For me Chigs (as much as I like him) is the weakest link here. Simple, if cannot bowl, then he has to sit out. Chakabva had a very good FC seasonzimfan1 wrote:Squad down to 12 now with Musoko, Raza and Waller getting the chop
Mark gets ever closer@tristanholme: Zim squad down to 12 now: BT, Chakabva, Chatara, Chigumbura, H Masakadza, Mutumbami, Nyumbu, Panyangara, Vusi, Tiripano, Vermeulen, Williams
Choice seems to be over the WK or 2 out of Williams, Vermeulen and Chakabva

On the surface I agree. I struggle to include Chigs in the side based on his batting or his bowling ability but given he's seniority in the side and he's the ODI captain, I don't think the selectors will leave him out. I think it will come down to Chakabva and Mutumbami

On a more positive note, the last time I was as furious about a team selection Germany went on to win the World Cup a month later (having changed the set-up of the team halfway through the tournament when it mattered). So if Mangongo can do a Löw we are destined to win the upcoming Tri-Series against Oz and SA, or not?

Re: [Match Thread] Zimbabwe v South Africa: Only Test
Mangongo reminds me more of Big Phil than Jogi Löw.

Is Shingi unavailable due to his recent marriage?

How is it possible that each and every team selected by over two dozen ZCF members leading up to the SA test is stronger than the one that will take the field tomorrow? Morons...

Re: [Match Thread] Zimbabwe v South Africa: Only Test
What has Nyumbu done to even be considered for the Test side? He has only ever averaged under 30 in the Logan Cup last year when the few proper batsman left in the country were mostly away with the national side. Otherwise his FC record is rather ordinary.
Re: [Match Thread] Zimbabwe v South Africa: Only Test
So Nyumbu gets a go because they have chosen against Utseya and SM hates Mushangwe.
Shingi is the biggest shock, assuming Tino is partially a fitness issue at least.
Surely both Chakabva and Richmond should play?
Vusi
Hami
Vermuelen

Williams
