While I'm not the greatest Craig Ervine fan around, and thought he was lucky to do a "Maruma" in sneaking back into the Test side, I think he's a better ODI than Test/FC player ... and definitely better than Maruma.

But the Raza situation is much more puzzling.

Well we have a doctor in the house :P so my question is how many days would it normally take to recover from a broken finger? Surely it would take more than a few days.

Campbell said on commentary the broken finger is bad enough to stop him from batting but not bad enough to stop him from fielding.

There is no way Maruma is good enough to bat anywhere near the top four.

Maruma's international batting averages:

Tests - 10.00 (2 innings)
ODI's - 10.23 (13 innings)
T20I's - 10.50 (9 innings)

This is not a coincidence. The guy is a solid #10 batsman.

Campbell struggling to contain his disdain for Maruma batting in the most important position. Mentioned him in the same breath as Chari.
