What do rankings matter whatsoever? We're evidently never gonna lose status, but also never gonna qualify for events automatically
Re: 2023-2031 FTP news, updates, etc
Yeah possible SZ. I'm any case Zimbabwe should send the strongest team possible, I think other than South Africa, everyone will do just that.secretzimbo wrote: ↑Sun Dec 31, 2023 1:52 pmI think the Olympic qualification bit may have got lost in translation somewhere by the organisers and is probably not the case. As much as I wish the 6 Olympic teams would be the Host + 5 Regional Qualifiers, I think there’s more chance of it snowing in Zimbabwe.
Pretty sure qualification will unfortunately end up being by on rankings and this may mark the start of the ranking period or something like that

Send the strongest team and smash everyone. We need to learn to punish the minnows.

The Daily Star suggested they are looking to cut it down to 1 test instead of 2. The BCB spokesman also said it hasn't been conveyed to ZC yet. Frankly I think a 1 off Test is still a good move. Its important for ZIM to play 5-6 Tests a year in varied conditions.

Afghanistan and Ireland are playing a Test in Abu Dhabi starting on Feb 28
Its highly problematic that ZIM keeps having Tests with AFG and IRE cancelled/postponed...

Yes, Afghans are also playing a test against Sri Lanka. Both SL tour and Ireland series are proper tours consisting of test, ODIs and T20s.Kriterion_BD wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 2:03 amAfghanistan and Ireland are playing a Test in Abu Dhabi starting on Feb 28

This is where ZCB are very poor. Zimbabwe's FTP is the poorest in the world.

Is the Ireland Afghan series in FTP? Afghans are also hosting Bangladesh for a full series of 2 Tests, 3 ODIs, 3 T20s after the T20 world cup this summer...Afghans might double the number of Tests they've played by the end of this year.sam_ahm wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 2:11 amYes, Afghans are also playing a test against Sri Lanka. I think we are too understanding. ZC must just insist we play what was initially agreed. They planned to have the players playing red ball cricket for the next 6 weeks after this tour. People will now blame them for playing red ball cricket instead of T20s to play Bangladesh yet it made sense according to the initial plan.
