Not really a miracle, they've got some good players. Highly unlikely maybe

I'm happy for the Dutch and also for Ireland and Scotland. They will likely make it now to the WC.

Yup, a little sad for the likes of Kenya but I don't think they are going to be even half as competitive as say Oman or Nepal who may also miss out on the WC. Asia region also has just 2 spots and Hong Kong, UAE, Nepal, Oman, Kuwait will all be fighting for it. That's brutal.

Then to be honest PNG are also a deserving team and they will likely get their spot. USA are getting a free spot as Co-hosts but they are better than the likes of Uganda and Kenya anyways. So barring 1 or 2 nations, like say Canada, I think others are quite deserving.

I feel sorry for the likes of Uganda and Kenya who are now more than likely going to miss out on the next World Cup. All because we lost to the Dutch and then they performed a miracle against South Africa…..Gutted
If a team cant qualify for a 20 team world cup, they really have no business playing against India or Australia. Kenya is a spent force now for the past 20 years. Teams like PNG and Nepal will have their chance and will just have to take it. A 20 team world cup is probably a little too big, but it leaves room for a lot of upsets. Imagine Nepal besting a team like Scotland or Ireland.

Honetly, Nepal beating Scotland or Ireland is not that much of an upset. Both of them have lost to Nepal before and have even been beaten by the likes of Italy and Jersey . The fact is that outside of top 3-4 teams, the other 20-30 teams are much closer in T20 cricket than people realize and anyone can beat anyone.

Well Nepal would likely lose to Ireland 9 out of 10 times which is probably Ireland or Netherland's record against England. So the gap between the top 3 and Ireland/NED/Scotland is probably the same as the gap between Nepal/PNG and Ireland. Probably a similar gap between teams like Nepal vs Italy or Bermuda.

Even India had to rely on rain and a little help from the umpires to beat a very mediocre Bangladesh side.

That's just hypothetical now, and you are basing that based on what you have seen of India, Ireland and Nepal. The fact is that on the field, every match starts off on even footing and Nepal has as much a chance of beating anyone else in top 20-30 teams than the other.

That's the beauty of T20 cricket. I agree with the thinking that outside the top 4 teams , these games are a lot closer than people realize. Also the lower you go down the rankings the more likely you will get teams who are prone to collapses and mistakes. For example if Zimbabwe gets Kohli out for a duck there are still 6 other guys in the Indian team who can deliver but if PNG gets Raza out for zero we could be in trouble.

But England are also 33% of the top 3. India and Australia have never lost to any "minnows" but they also seem to play them less frequently.

This Dutch team is strong. Very good bowling attack and a good batting line up.
