I have to wonder why you have made over 6,000 posts over a period of thirteen years on a Zimbabwe cricket forum, if you've 'never been a genuine well wisher of Zim cricket'. That seems quite odd to me.

I was thinking the same! Come on Kriterion, how can you not like Zimbabwe!?

I want to say great win but fielding captaincy is still poor. No dangerman burl .jongwe Williams too easy.need more pressure in the middle..chatara not tight enough..

Meanwhile no one is talking about Craig Ervine... How many more failures can he take? There is Marumani already waiting in the wings and probably Welch as well in the future. In the longer formats too there is Kaia who can take his place at No. 3.

I was always keen to follow their progress as Bangladesh's arch rivals. I started here in 2009, a year which saw 3 bilateral series between the two sides plus a tri series, making it 4 series inside 12 months. At that time, not much separated the two sides. Hence the interest.

Craig might have aspirations of playing next year's WCQ. As of now it is still OK but he needs to get some runs quickly and it always good to have competition for places.

He's played a lot of cricket, very experienced. T20 is definitely not his format. His instinct is to defend a good ball, which is OK but with that mindset you're going at a run a ball unless the bowler happens to bowl you a couple of pies in a row, which is becoming less and less likely at international level. I have never been that enthralled with his bowling changes. He's a good player and been a great servant and has earned his right though and its likely this is his last T20 WC.

I'd like to know why Burl didn't get an over or two? You need to give your leggie a go, particularly if there's a very defendable total.
Madhevere's stats are somehow quite flattering, he's not coming off too often. He needs to have a good WC for us to do well. Plenty of ability but doesn't think a couple of things through. He should have gone harder at those paddle pulls to that short boundary for example.

It was obvious that the bowlers managed to rein Raza in at the back end, a bit late, but other teams will be scribbling notes. A good length on 4th keeps him very quiet. Obviously that applies to most batters  but it was very noticeable.
He likes to go onside and square, he said so himself.
He scored half our runs...again!! It's a worry. Someone else needs to step up.
Chakabva got a great delivery. Tough to get that early doors.
He is bad at keeping to slower deliveries whose second bounce is just in front of him, it's not easy but he makes a meal of them.
I think we left quite a few Two's out there. Our running wasn't great. We left maybe 10 runs on the park.
Jongwe batted well, some great shots behind square.

Marumani has to be a better T20 option than Milton?
He was hard done by being left out, but I'm sure he's close to being a regular, he is improving all the time.
I predict Burl will struggle as our finisher, we don't really have another option so he will stay there I guess, but he'd do better in the top 4. It's not easy selecting a line up with our batters. I just think he struggles to pull the trigger straight off, most do. Once again that short arm pull of his is a poor habit- anyway we need him to have a great tournament as well if we're going to do well. He had to go for that shot, but it wasn't quite there and he clothed it.

Blessing, Richie and Chats were bloody amazing!!
I'm certain that cold day helped Chats get it to swing. As soon as it stopped swinging he was getting it to nip back off the seam, great skills.

That was such a great win! Great day for us.

I love the fact it was against Ireland. I hate them with a passion, goes back to all the times they pushed to replace us as a full member.

They are a one man team, get Stirling out early like we did today and they have very little to back him up in the batting department.

A glorious win which I watched, ball by ball, on YuppTV.

I have to openly apologize for my poor faith: when in powerplay Zimbabwe was 39 - 3, I couldn't envisage a victory.
However, despite the falling of wickets, ZIM run rate was continuesly interesting, which let me hope.

Scorecard reflects (once again) that Zimbabwe top order keeps undeperforming and (still once again) overelying on Raza.
Let's hope against West Indies that all others do not leave Raza a one man show: he wouldn't suffice to defeat W.I.

Forza Zimbabwe!
