Afghanistan are trying to duck out of the test. They'd rather play more 50 over. Makes sense for them, and us, unless we are just getting absolutely bashed in the 50 over which is going to be likely. I don't share other's optimism about us being better at 50 over at all. Hope I'm wrong
I don't think it's about being better in terms of quality. We just have more options in that format. Same goes for the longer formats. That's when the likes if Marumani, Kaia, Kaitano and even Kasuza and Prince come in. Alao adding the fact that most of our players prefer that 100-110 strike rate.

We have serious issues with our top order. We actually haven't replaced BT yet. That's been the problem but at least in those formats we have more options. Options that allow Regis if he sticks around and even Wes to strengthen the middle order.

Anyone know the dates for the Afghan series yet? Last week of November I heard.

Going to be difficult to replace our vice captain/wicket keeper/opening batsman (in ODIs) in just three weeks.

Test probably isn't happening. As usual we'd make a large financial loss on it and it isn't viable.

Someone still needs to explain to me convincingly that a test costs half a million dollars. People are eating nicely there, ICC and their match refs, 3rd umpires etc included.

The moment South Africa messed up, I had absolutely no doubt that Pakistan will now be difficult to stop. They are unstoppable when they catch fire.

Watching these England openers against this Indian bowling attack is a sobering experience.
