This is horrific. Feel sorry for the selectors having to pick a couple from this bunch to join the main squad

None of these guys are up to playing test cricket imo. the only one i would have considered is Madhevere but he has completely lost all confidence and needs to reset.

None of them look up to it immediately after this performance. But too soon to write some of the younger guys off. Still a fair amount of potential.

Maruma is a very capable player he just gets stage fright. He needs a extended run in side before deciding to jettison completely.

Maybe mr positive dave houghton can sprinkle some of his fairy dust on him

Massive headache for the selectors. No idea who opens alongside Kaia. Maunze/Makoni/Gumbie all failing to convince.

If Burl/Raza/Williams are all out of both tests then I suppose they will pick probably Maruma and Chibhabha. As someone else has said, we sadly play so few tests that development isn't even important in this format anymore. Just pick all the over the hill 37 year olds and hope for the best.

Chibhabha I can live with, he has scored runs at the top level before. Tiripano has played some decent knocks at Test level.
But Maruma? The bloke has never shown anything beyond domestic level. He averages TEN for a reason.

Kazusa, Kaitano, Masvaure have all notched half-centuries.Any of them are a better option. Maruma has played 40 games for a top score of 35.

We CANNOT go back to Maruma. That's like a return to the bad old days when we picked Dabengwa because he was a good fielder.

What injury did Ballance have? You'd think they'd have given him a game here.

I've been watching a bit of Maruma. He's decent. What is it that makes a guy just go out? That reverse was on, but why play it?
It's a bit like Markram, great player but invents ways of going out.

We play a fair amount of 4 day cricket and should be giving a better account of ourselves, its really disappointing.
I've always thought Prince Masvaure has a bit about him, why didn't he play in this game?
